Hello all, I'm new here, I want to buy an EVGA 2070 super or 2080 super card from their web site and then use it to step up to the 3080. my question is, does it matter which version of either of those 2 cards the 2070 super or 2080 super I purchase to use in the step up program matter? or do I need a specific version of the EVGA 2070 super or EVGA 2080 card to be eligible for the step up-upgrade? thx all

As long as it has a 3 year warranty and is purchased by you from an authorized seller you will be good with any model. See here:

It doesn’t matter which cards you are stepping up from. You’ll pay the difference in price between the product you purchased to the product you want to step up to, which is only RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra at the present time.

Oh yeah, there are definitely step up users who don't post to the forums ha. It will just be useful for those down the list to see who is getting served when.
