Hi,
I need confirmation this is going to be the case for the duration of the step up program?
It’s a real kick in the teeth that I can’t take advantage of the step up program because of ‘Brexit’ if that is the case. I bet you have thousands of uk based customers who are potentially going to be forced to miss out on something.
What makes it worse is I purchased a 2080 Super 6 weeks ago and have spoken to customer service agents who never said the UK will be excluded, just that they cannot tell me when or if the step program will be available.

I don’t need trolls on here. It’s a smack in the teeth because I voted to remain.
Like I said we’re still in the EEA. May even remain in the free trade area after the end of the transition period so it’s bang out of order to politicise this and exclude a massive group of people.

I'm glad you did, as I did, but sadly the reality is reality. I'm guessing they anticipating that step up GPUs won't ship until January if not latter due to demand. So they expect that by that time we won't be in the free trade agreement. I mean, they can still provide service, we would just have to pay a premium for handling and all that. Which might end up being so much that it may be easier to sell ur gpu on ebay/ buy new in-store. That's if EVGA will still sell to UK. Seeing what BJ is doing in parliament now and how it mess up everything, who knew what will be in jan.

But EVGA is a US based company, since BoJo and Trumpy are such friends, a chlorinated deal might ease or cut some costs all together. (Being optimistic)

The US Senate won't allow a trade with UK given how the UK is already planning on breaking the agreement with the EU which will endanger Good Friday Agreement. I would not count on a trade deal with the US by the end of December 2020. Maybe 2021/2022 well have one. I don't think your 2080 90 days upgrade plan cover that long time.

It was available at midnight last night and I still have 19 days left on my step up, it says on my product page. They can't suddenly pull it away because new cards are being released. They advertised a service, I paid for it and now they need to uphold it.

Looks like the UK is no longer eligible for the Step Up.
Likely the change has been made due to the release of the new cards happening since we left the UK. Bit of a bummer

I just rang evga and they said it should be available to UK at 4pm. They are aware of this issue regarding the not available in your country message apparently and are looking into it. If it doesn't work at 4 then send an email to support.

If they don't sort this out, I'll be straight onto my credit card company. As when I bought my card, EVGA clearly told me via email that step up would be possible. So I'll simply charge back as mis sold - it's as simple as that. This is EVGA screwing UK customers again, just as they did last release. Ultimately, I hope it leads to a massive boycott of your products.

Seems step-up is showing again but no 3080s for the UK list - meanwhile the US customers are able to queue as of now - what gives? Pretty sure being in the UK i actually paid MORE for my card, yet I cannot queue?

Just spoken to customer service on Live Chat about the StepUp in the UK
Q - Will the 3080's be available on the StepUp program in the UK?
A - Yes they will be. They actually are supposed to be, but there is an issue where the 30 series are not showing up in the drop down. We are working on this at the moment. Apologies
Q - Any idea on when it will be fixed?
A - It should be soon. They did say that we should be able to work with anyone whose 90 days finish before we can fix this issue as its not exactly their fault. It should be fixed within next week more likely but no eta

I just ordered an EVGA 3080 Black 10GB Gaming GPU from a UK retailer. Will I, as a UK resident, be able to step up to a 20GB variant IF one appears within 90 days of my purchase?

If it releases within the 90 day window I don't see why not, the whole point of the step up program is to give you the confidence to buy the newest knowing if one does come along (within 90 days) you'll be able to upgrade

Under normal circumstances AaronCollis you would be right. However, the UK unfortunately has decided to remove itself from the EU. According to EVGA:
"EVGA Step-Up is currently only available to residents of the United States (not including outlying territories), Canada and EU Countries."
The UK is no longer an EU country, it is still a European country of course, but technically not in the European Union.
There has been no official clarification on this issue from EVGA. I am sure many others, not just myself, would appreciate some clarity on this matter.

Right but the UK still counts as an EU country, I personally don't think the customs agreements are still done so I cannot see the issue yet, maybe later, but chances are they will keep some sort of deal which doesn't hinder them. Edit: New rules in vigor Jan 2021 supposedly

Come Dec 31st at 11pm, the UK is out of the transition period. Yes, currently, we are in the transition period so things still operate as they historically have due to us still being in the single market and customs union. It sounds like EVGA are still currently allowing step up for UK customers NOW, today, but will that change at the end of the year? On the 3rd of October 2020, there will be 90 days remaining until 2021. Every day AFTER that date I don't have and register my 3080, is a day lost of any current potential step up program (if it ends Dec 31st 2020). I have to receive and register my GPU within the next 12 days to be assured of a FULL 90 day step up option (as things currently stand). Given the utter chaos of this release, the chances of that happening are slim. My retailer cannot currently give me any info on potential delivery dates for this item. But, hey...maybe EVGA will come through and allow their step up program to continue for UK customers. Fingers crossed. :) EDITWhen asked " Has EVGA made any decision regarding continuing the Step-Up program for UK after Brexit?", EVGA EU tech Support member EVGATech_MarkusK said: " the Step-Up Option will definitely continue for the future," However, that was written in August 2018, so things might have changed!
