What a waste of time and money. Don't bother with this, they are basically filling their need for your in-demand card while they have no intention of sending the new one out any time soon. The message that "your card is ready" is a proven lie. Spending extra money on faster shipping is a complete waste of money, as they won't ship it any faster. My ONLY video card is being held hostage (for "1-2 weeks"!) while they sit on the new one. No excuse for this when they say they have the new card READY! VERY PISSED at EVGA right now.

Take a long walk off a short pier, EVGA.

    Welcome to the Forum heavyz
I have used this program without issues about 5 Times Now and with Zero Issues.
My last was from the GTX 1070 to the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition and still have my 5 Year Warranty.

clearly reading the terms was overlooked .Once received they make sure the card is not DOA and in acceptance for the program. It can take 2-3 business days.they dont get a card and ship one out same day no matter what shipping you pay for .And why would they be so desperate to have his/her older or lesser model card(he has to be stepping up from something lesser or it wouldn't be a step up lol ) or  USED card they dont make as much money off selling? makes no sense and clearly someone is just upset things are not fast enough to his liking and lashing out some. Alot of facts missing ,so no one will read what he has said and give it any real merit or worth.Posting like this does no good ,sways no ones opinion.Feels good i guess .But in the end the program works and NO ONE ELSE offers anything like it.  Have a nice day, please drive threw :)

I can understand the pain though since he said it's his only video card. It really sucks to have a gaming PC without a video card in it.  I also know EVGA is going to make him happy in the long run as long as his card is in working order. While the wait isn't fun when he is gaming on a better graphics card he will be relaxed and happy. He might still dislike the time it took but as you said nobody else is offering a deal like it.

Reading the terms was not overlooked. 2-3 days would be awesome, and no problem at all. My card was received by them on Tuesday, which sat in pending status until today, which I figured was also normal. Then I receive a note from customer service that my step up card is out of stock, and I now will wait "for 1-2 weeks" for them to SHIP the card, which was supposedly "in-stock" and waiting for me when they proceeded with the step up. EVGA has been having trouble keeping the 1080 ti in stock for a while now, they just got an open box back which they can now sell, and haven't sent mine out. I don't know how anyone would feel that this is acceptable, especially when my gaming PC is rendered entirely useless while they have my old card.

Of course I'm venting, because I've been screwed by EVGA with no real recourse that I can see. The dismissal by Biohazard is exactly what I feel from the manufacturer, so I guess yeah, I will "drive on threw [sic]", whatever the hell that means.

Before going off, maybe call them and see if it is a 1-2-3 day wait.(i know that doesn't fix the your card is ready point) But mistakes happen, and i would think a call to confirm the wait would be better, and inform you actual time and that they should upgrade your return shipping to maybe next day for the inconvenience. By your statement ,it arrived tuesday, most likely checked in wed morning ,then add 2-3 business days  before then send you anything. No way around that. So call and make sure it is not being sent out today (end of 3rd business day at max) .

By your own admission you know that they have had a hard time keeping stock of the card, but you rolled the dice anyway to step up?!?! Just because a card says in stock doesn't mean that the 200 people in front of you wont wipe out that shipment, but you rolled the dice anyway, right?!? So you could always ask evga to please send your card back and youll gab one from another etailer, and sell your current one yourself.

A card is in hand in your name when you are told to ship your card back to EVGA, something is not right here.

The step up program is supposed to reserve a card for you, to avoid exactly this issue. You may wait weeks for the email which tells you they have the card in stock, but once you receive said email, the card is supposed to be ready to ship on their end. I wasn't "rolling the dice", I was relying on a supposedly reliable process which is supposed to eliminate the wait for the new card to be in stock.

I've used the Step-Up program 3 times total so far. Yea the wait sucks, but its worth it when you ship your USED card off and get a NEW card back that's better.

I've used Step-Up plenty of times in the past, all went smoothly. As others have stated, the TI cards "fly off the shelves". EVGA's customer support is #1 in this industry, and it seems like they are stepping up (no pun intended) to take care of you.

I'm a first-time buyer of EVGA recently with a 1070 SC2 that I got on Newegg for $479 and found I could step-up to the 1080 which at the time was only $509 and found the process relatively quick and painless on my end.  Unfortunately the DVI port on my Asus Z270 Prime-A didn't function (boo!!!) but I still had my old MSI Radeon 7870 2GB card to hold me over until I got the 1080 in.

Sorry you're experiencing trouble, hope they resolve it quickly for you.

Just wondering why EVGA would have to check to make sure a warrantied card that was sent in is working, because if it wasn't it would be replaced under warranty anyway right?

I would think ,because you are stepping up the card,if the card is broken and not in working order(or something else outside of warranty) it does not qualify for the program and would be returned. The terms are clear to protect evga from fraud.

I believe that it has to do with a mod that the owner does to the card that might void the warranty.  In most cases...EVGA does allow modding like water blocks, etc...as long as the card can be put back in original condition before sent back.  I had a 980 TI that I was going to step up with...the lighting system didn't work...because of someone at the factory shoving the LED wire into the slot, without aligning the holes to the pins.  They practically broke the pins...EVGA wasn't too worried about it.  If the card wasn't modded or taken apart...no reason to sit on it.  Case by case...

heavyz, do you have an update? I hope you have been taken care of. I myself have enjoy the step-up program, yes waiting can be frustrating for sure. But where else can you get full price back for using a card? I do hope you are satisfied now that EVGA has reached out to resolve the issue.

If the shipping turn around portion was more timely then I believe a lot of the complaints would vanish

The one time I put in for a step-up (from a 780 Classified to a 980), my card was "lost" by UPS when it arrived in California. I was pretty pissed and had no recourse.
