Man as someone who lives in Fullerton (15 minutes from EVGA headquarters in Brea) I wish they allowed drop offs/pickups instead of having to waste 20$ to ship there and ship back...

Have you tried contacting them and asking if that would be possible?

When I did a 780 to 980 step up a year+ ago they said they don't allow it.

Yeah, the shipping sucks. I paid more for the shipping, to and from them, than I did the actual step up. But they just don't have the volume or warehouses all over the country to get the better deals With UPS Or FedEx like Amazon Or Newegg does. They make no money from the shipping and it probably costs them just as much as it does us to ship something.

well the problem is that they need to test the card you return. its not just a switch and ship scenario.

For those you got a tracking number how many does was it from the day they received your step up trade in? EVGA got my card Friday. I am hoping to see tracking by Tuesday.

Just an update from someone that grabbed the step up option about 8 hours later then when it started on friday, stepping up from a 1080 SC - no number in queue as of yet. Nor any email besides the first, but I already had my invoice in so maybe that's why..

Same here... I signed up about 3.75 hours after and nothing but the original email and yes, they already have invoice as well for my 1080 SC.

since I have 30+ days for the step up, do you recommend to cancel the step up and see what happens until the last day? I would rather step up from a 1080 SC to a 1080 TI SC...

I will say this.. if I had a perfectly fine card and could wait, I would, just to see if anything else gets added. I wouldnt wait until the last second, but with a few days left, I would enter the queue.

Still may do that if I don't hear something in the next week or two.  My step up option is good till around the 10th of May and it's not like I'm sitting here about to smash my PC because the 1080 doesn't get the job done.

And you're nearly 5 hours ahead of me too, I can only imagine my wait ;-;
And too think, I was bragging to my co workers the day of the step up start that I would be playing it on 4k the day it launched or at least be close.
A week later one of them told me, "close only counts with darts and hand grenades."
'Too soon,' I told him.. "Too soon"

Buy a 15$ courier outfit off ebay, stand infront of their RMA department being all like hey I'm new.. here to deliver this package.  Oh also I'll be here to pick up the package on way back lemme know! Don't worry about having that dude pay for it xD.

They don't have pickup/drop off because then they'd have to hire someone to work a front desk or something to manage people coming in/out, it interrupts operations etc, security risk.  You name it, plenty of reasons to not allow 1% of people to be special and change their system if they don't have the structure to support it also!

Queue=line. Pending just means it is verified that the user is in line.

Does EVGA pay for the shipping or do you have to pay for it yourself? I live in Sweden and have to ship the card to Germany, the price is absurd.

So Just got my first ICX card (from the upgrade program) registered to my account and I was looking at starting the step-up. The problem is the price to put. I know as was mentioned by Chris earlier in the thread the cost for the ICX FTW2 should be $679.99, which is great, but since I am in Canada it is asking for the price in Canadian. So not sure if I should just put what I originally paid for my first FTW (which will cost me more, our dollar was better then) or if I should just convert $679.99 and put in $908.10 or what.

Anyone else from Canada face this yet?

If you put the price too high, they will adjust it to match what it is supposed to be. Hopefully a canadian user will be able.to answer you, or an evgatech will pop in to help, but i figured i would let you know that in the meantime.

EVGA adds shipping cost to the total cost of step-up. BUT, I can say what EVGA charged is half of what I paid to ship my old card to them. I'm in the states, so it may be different, I hope not though. UPS and USPS have raised their rates at the beginning of the year, and it gets absurd at times. Or maybe I'm just a cheapskate...

Yea, I just put in $910 which came out to $680ish on the site so that should work for now. Just as a word of warning to other Canadian users, make sure you double check the price on the following page. The first time I put in $910 when I continued it came out as $910us and therefore showed just over $1200 cdn. I had to go back and do it again to have it work in Canadian, so just watch out for a glitch like that.

It costs about $54 for the worldwide saver option for me. And that is US dollars so about $72 cdn. Which hurts and does make me wonder if it is cheaper to do the step-up or sell the card and buy the 1080ti outright. I originally thought that EVGA paid for the shipping and so didn't include this in my costs. Since it costs $60 cdn for me to ship there, we are looking at about $130 shipping and $30 for the actual step-up.

Alright, but will my card be worth as much as 1080 ICX before the 1080 price cuts or after? I'm planning to step up to 1080 ti and shelling in another 300euro after paying 100euro to upgrade to ICX seems unfair.

Up until last night my "Step-up Queue" process said "In Queue".  Now its just empty.  Does anyone know why?  I started the queue on the 10th but had to restart later that day because I did my calculations incorrectly.  I already uploaded my invoice already.

Same here about the prices...
Step up = $140.10
UPS ground = $10.94
Total: $151.04

Cost me $35.95 to ship my 1080 to EVGA via ground... of which $21 was the actual shipping from WA to CA and the rest was insurance.

Weird...

Been a long time since I've been this bonkers waiting for something. They got my card Monday morning about 11:00 AM PST according to UPS. Still no shipping etc update. Paid for next day both ways too. Just hoping it gets here by Friday. Zero reason or real need. Just want to see ME:A turned up instead of limping along on my old 680 at some terrible but fully playable res and settings.

Re: Step up program 1080ti 2017/06/16 02:02:41 (permalink)
So this may be an old thread but it contained usefull info about the step up program and the ICX upgrade program, it was stated that after doing the ICX Upgrade, I think scarlett the moderator here said that doing a step up from the ICX upgrade would give you the step up price of the original MSRP of the ICX card you upgraded to, so I got the EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW2 GAMING on my ICX upgrade, and yet my step up just came through today with an ADJUSTED price of 469... thats the msrp of the product TODAY, not on release, increasing my step up price by 200 dollars... what gives why is EVGA no longer following the policy they had stated on this forum?
