Sooo I just got a 3070 ti FTW Ultra gaming and while yes I paid way more than I wanted to... I just got to the realization that I'm not going to get that email for the que system.

Granted... this card is pretty amazing.  My question is does the step up program have a super massive delay as well?  Say for instance I wanted the 3080 version of the same card.  Is that an eternal wait as well?  Thanks!

If you bought it from a scalper on eBay it's ineligible for step up anyway.

Stepping up to a 3080 will take longer than a 3080Ti
I was going to step up from a 3070Ti to the 3080Ti but the cost was not worth it to me.
Would of been another 800 on top of what I already paid.

To the 3080Ti was only about 5 weeks when I got the notify. Turned it down.
The 3080 if even still available will be many months.

I purchased a 3070ftw3 in March applied for step up to a 3080ftw3 and got a notify for second step in Nov. So roughly a 6 month wait.

This is all irrelevant the timeframe of a step up. If he didn't buy it from an authorized retailer he can't step up anyway.

Can't step up to a regular 3080 anyway, it's closed.

It was new sold on Amazon, not second hand. I say scalp cause we all know prices are high due to demand. Thank you for the info :)

Unless it was "sold and shipped" by amazon it's not eligible. You more than likely bought it from a marketplace seller and they are not authorized resellers.

    For instance:
    https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-08G-P5-3797-KL-Technology-Backplate/dp/B096WM6JFS/ref=sr_1_3?crid=30DUJY1WUNC9L&keywords=evga+rtx+3070+ti+ftw3+ultra&qid=1639429718&sprefix=EVGA+RTX+3070+Ti%2Caps%2C189&sr=8-3

That card is actually sold by "DealsPro1" and not Amazon and as such is ineligible for Step Up and also ineligible for extended warranty purchase.

Gotcha. No biggie. It’s a super massive upgrade from a 980ti anyway… heh. Thanks again for the info.

I signed up for a step up from a 3070ti to a 3080 in October and got my allocation last week. However I believe the non ti 3080 is currently unavailable for step-up. I canceled mine as its really bad timing for me but thought id get back on the queue but I guess not lol. Support said it they did not know when it will be available again, making the next option up the Ti for ~400-500 bucks more.

    EDIT: its back up

Confirmed, the 3080 Non TI is back on the step up list.  I wish they would allow for more than one step up to each gpu.  I used my 3080 Step up already and could use another for a 3060TI that I was recently able to purchase.  I'm holding out to see if the new super versions will be made available within the time frame I have to register for a step up.  I still have about 45 more days left.

I personally don't think that's such a good idea since I have a feeling it'd get abused pretty quickly by scalpers who have pallets of 20 series GPUs and want to upgrade to 30 series gpus just to throw them up onto sites like Ebay and Craigslist.

One card per person right now seems fair, that way everyone gets a card and not just scalpers
