Hello everyone.
(sorry for my English, not my natvie, far from perfect )
After yesterday RTX announcement I'm a bit disappointment that for any real tests we have  to wait another month.
I have at the moment GTX1050ti as a temporary card for new RTX.
But I want to do something else.
Is is possible to buy GTX1080ti(SC black edition iCX) now, register it for step-up, wait around 2 months untill 2070/2080 and 2080ti will be fully tested vs pascal to see is it worth to upgrade it or not?
This 1080ti is atm for 630F (I live in UK) so I don't really know is it good option, or just buy used for around 500F, than sell it within 2 months for 400+? and buy 2080ti if performance boost will be enough for me ;)
Maybe after that time RTX price will go down a bit.
Also I would like to ask, what's price for shipping from uk to evga usually?
Thank you for any reply.

You have 90 days from the date of purchase to enroll in the Step Up program. You would have to decide to enroll within that 90 days. Any card that is an authorized purchase the original owner can enroll in the Step Up program.

Everything is security.

Thank you.
Any response to those who would be just a few days shy of the 90 day period as a result?

At this time we do not have anything regarding this, I would not be expecting any extensions. Typically exceptions are not made for the Step Up program.

I know about that, so if I buy this card today, than till ~20th of November I will have to decide to stay with this card or replace it with 2080/2080ti.
So If I buy it from Scan.co.uk which I believe is authorised  retailer for 630GBP and than I decide to swap it with let say 2080ti for 1200GBP than I will have to pay only the difference so ~570GBP+shipping right?

Why would you be disappointed since EVGA is about the only manufacturer that still has this program? No other manufacturer has it.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Now I have to think is it worth to do it and buy 1080ti now, or simply wait that one month and than just buy 2080 or 2080ti,
It's all about what gonna happen after 20sep, will price go down or up ;)
Nvidia left us even more questions without answers after that conference than we had before.

I feel like if you buy last generations card (1080 ti) it's going to depreciate more than the new 20 series cards when the next 30 series cards come out.
So you're probably better buying a 2080 over a 1080 ti, because you'll be able to sell it back for more if anything else. A bonus you get access to DLSS and Ray Tracing.
From what it looks like, the current 1080 ti cards can't do Ray Tracing period. 1-2 giga-rays per second is probably super slow.
I would also trust in Nvidia's new metric, they aren't stupid... Sure they may have binned parts for cards, but all companies work in manufacturing environments that use binning.
Nvidia does provide top notch cards each generation... Maybe devs are slow to react, sounds like Nvidia is active in helping major publishers... Or it just works.
We can't look at the 20 series card as if its still at 10 series with new bells and whistles. This is a bigger leap than people are realizing I think.

Waiting patiently to Stepup my 1080 ti to a 2080 ti xD Come on Sept 20th!

Lets start a petition to include more customers who fall short of the September 20th, 2018 release date of the RTX 20 series graphics cards.

Hoggle
One thing to keep in mind is we have seen the card sell out on orders expected to be filled within 6 weeks from now. That was within like an hour of them going live for order. I think that means everything is going to sell out quickly for a bit so while I expect to see a step up offered I don’t know if I would count on one soon.

I have a problem with this-- that shouldn't be a good reason to not offer the step-up program immediately considering that some members are almost at their 90-day mark. Especially because they have a queue and even explain that a very high demand can necessitate a longer queue. So they knew that this could happen and covered themselves ahead of time. I don't see any good reason why the step-up program isn't be offered immediately-- see below: "
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why do I have to wait in queue?

We have a queue for our Step-Up process so you can keep your current EVGA product until we have your new product ready and waiting for you in our warehouse. Sometimes, very high demand will necessitate a longer than usual queue, but once you have made your request and you are in queue the 90 day limit no longer applies - you are considered in the Step-Up process.
If you are still within the 90 days from your original purchase, you can cancel your Step-Up and start a new process yourself. If you are out of the 90 days from your original purchase and you leave the queue, you will not be allowed to start a new Step-Up."

If I have to wait a few months, I really don't mind... I just want to make sure that I'm going to be included in the program so I can make a decision on what to do next.

You obviously misunderstood the above information, so I'm going to explain:

First off, the step-up program for the new products does not start until the availability date of the said products (09/20/2016 if I remember correctly). Of course it makes absolute sense that the program should start on that date, and not earlier. The pre-order date is not the availability date. So if you would have exceeded the 90-day period by Sept 20, then you do not qualify for the Step-Up Program, period. Here is what EVGA has on their website:

"EVGA will open the Step-Up Queue on the NVIDIA Availability Date for the GeForce RTX 20 Series."

This queue goes into effect only after you've actually begun the step-up process. This means that once you begin the step up process within the 90-day period since you purchased your current item, they will put you in a queue and have you wait until your new product is available in their warehouse before prompting you to ship your current card (since the step-up program is treated on a first-come, first-served basis). You wouldn't be happy to ship your current card now, and wait in the queue until your product is available (leaving you without a card for who knows how long), would you? All you have to concern yourself with is registering within the 90-day period. As soon as you do, you can forget about the 90-day deadline because even if it takes 180 days before it gets to your turn, since you started the process within the 90-day period, you'd still be covered.

Alright, Sept 20th is finally here, it's safe to assume we won't see the new GPUs in the Step-up list for now though? I'll check daily from this point on to see if there's anything in the list.

You would think if the 2080 series were going to be on the step up program on the release date as stated, that they would actually be on the step up page as stated.
Or at least have it set up, with some sort of post saying what time it will go up, so the general public would have a better idea when to check.

Honestly, they cant do that it would negate the step up program, if they had to delay rolling out the 20xx series as part of the step up people could easily miss their window, i have 75 days left but those who have less than 30 would get screwed.

I'm not expecting the 2080 Ti until next week, when the card is released.  This would be consistent with EVGA comments in this very thread stating that only cards that are RELEASED can potentially be listed in the Step-Up program.

Just got off the phone with a rep, we probably won't see a 2080 TI step-up as he mentioned that the 2080 TI was delayed by NVIDIA. :/

Today was my last day for step-up too, sucks!
