Hello
I love music and I'm a gamer but no technical expert. I just bought a Nu audio card and a pair of Kanto Tuk speakers. They work fine with the usb port but not with the optic on the audio card. I too had problem installing the software. Would it be better to format the hard drive and start a new? Before I had a creative z.

You should use the RCA input into your speakers, not optical.  Don't use the USB input either.  Using optical makes your expensive EVGA audio card exactly as good as any other $30 product available with optical output.  With optical output, the EVGA sound card does nothing beside relay the digital data from your CPU.  And using the USB option makes the EVGA card do even less.

You will need to get the software installed correctly.

The question is, how does the Kanto Tuk process audio. If it's converting RCA input into digital via onboard DAC, process it and then convert back to analog, then it makes the Nu Audio card kinda useless.
Oh... There are quite a lot of DSP based active audio. Does the onboard DSP make good soundcard useless or does it still have an effect?

The RCA input is analog. DAC stands for "digital to analog converter". RCA is not digital, therefore you don't need to worry about that hypothetical. It is an impossibility that it is running an analog signal through a DAC.

It is analog. However, a lot of systems uses Digital Sound Processing (DPS) to fix for time delay, speaker unit qualities, and do the signal splitting to independent amplifiers.
Doesn't this need analog-digital and then digital-analog conversions in process?

How is this relevant? He owns the speakers he owns. He owns the sounds card he owns. Let's make recommendations based on those factors. It is clear that he should use the analog RCA inputs, not the USB input or the optical input. Regardless of how good or bad his speakers are, if he uses the USB or optical input, his expensive EVGA sound card will do nothing. If he uses the analog RCA input on his speakers, at least his expensive EVGA sound card will do something.
