Just cause he says next-gen hardware doesn't mean exactly without a doubt he's talking about a PS5. It could be about anything, even peripherals for the PS4. However as is typical with the game community and game journalists they will take his words out of context and instantly think he means they're working on a new console. It's best to wait it out and see what they exactly have planned instead of jumping to conclusions.

I'm sure they have it whiteboarded out by now... but will wait for exact hardware as long as possible. Maybe it will be called something better, like Playstation Pentagram

So, they confirmed the 5th gen PlayStation, and didn’t call it the PlayStation 5. Maybe the editor of this site needs to get their story together before posting.

Yep, Journalists seem to be getting smarter by the day! Maybe its not a true Playstation, so they are not sure what to call it. Could be a Nvidia Shield type Clone, that lets you upgrade GPU's? That would probably be pretty cool, especially if your able to play PS games as well as PC games! Forgive my post.. running on empty.. mind wandering...

It will be interesting if they go backwards compatibility and if it will have an optical drive. That is if it’s a PS5.
What we could see Sony doing is beefing up the graphics power and adding support for 4K Blu-Ray to the Pro that really should have had both to begin with. Microsoft scared Sony into a rush release with the Pro.

I had 2 ps4 pro and had a video issues with both
The pro was seriously rushed to market, not enough testing.. but it sold. PS5+ More memory, big gpu 4k, user upgrade-able gpu's, better wifi, Plex, 1tb SSD, Backwards compatible with all ps games, Mouse and keyboard support for most games. $275 price tag. Sells 2 million the first week.
