When I see people who get multiple computer parts/peripherals and have the same failures
with said part multiple times (be it purchases or RMA's)....are you ABSOLUTELY sure
you aren't doing something wrong?

Is that just me that thinks that way? (No offense to those experiencing issues..but I'm sure
it can't always be the part...)...not trying to start a fight per se..just wondering if others have
similar reactions.

I have the same thoughts now and then.  Prime example is when reading through the Nvidia forum in the driver section...  I know it's not exactly about parts as you stated above, but along the same lines.

EDIT:  But that's what certain area's in forums like this are for.  To help troubleshoot issue's.

Some of them are no doubt operator error, while others might be a lack of understanding of the root cause of the failures from a common source like a bad power supply. Either way I could care less. Not my circus, not my monkeys. Unless it directly effects me, why should I have an opinion about it?

    Transdogmifier,
I believe your hunch to be very on par with what I believe. Many of us have at least some common sense, and have some decent understanding of how things work. But one thing I've learned  in my working career, is you might not think people are that stupid, but reality is, there is some absolute IDIOTS that should never try and even change a roll of toilet paper, let alone install computer parts. Prime example! I recently put together a kids play house for my niece, the instructions CLEARLY state, that once assembled , to go over any sharp edges with sand paper(many parts come attached to a plastic piece, that you break off parts from). However if you look at reviews for that product, almost all negative reviews are from people who clearly didn't even bother reading the instructions. So same goes for computers especially, people are tragically stupid. DOA parts happen, but when you get 3+ "duds" in a row, maybe it's time to go back to the drawing board.

I had an issue with a previous RMA replacement. The reason for this is you get remanufactured replacements when you use the warranty service and if issues can happen with retail products, it's more likely to happen with remanufactured products.

I do agree a bit with joeymir. I work in a lab setting doing mechanic work on the machines and lab equipment and maintenance work on the buildings. Even though im working alongside some very educated people with list of degree's and phd's. There is a serious lacking of common sense in some of these people. Stuff that literally makes my jaw drop and makes me wonder how they made it this far thru life....
