So, I've had the board about a year. I just moved about 2000 miles, so I'm sure my computer got its share of bumps and shakes in the trip. I had it well protected though.
Anyway when I turn it on now, the fans run and POST codes indicators endlessly cycle displaying: 00, 30, 4C, 7F, FF and one more that's too fast for me to catch. It never gets far enough for any of the beep indicators.
I've reset the COMS. I've unplugged a few things from PCIe slots. None of that has made any change to the behavior.
Codes according to the manual:
00— Not in manual
30 — Reserved for ASL (see ASL Status Codes section below) » I'm not finding the ASL status codes section in the manual.
4C — Not in manual
7F — Reserved for future AMI DXE codes
FF — Reserved for future AMI error codes

Had something similar on my last board. Can't remember if it was the board or the cpu? I bought this board & a new cpu because of that problem. If it is the board it's still under warranty.

That is me in the picture, anyone else ever pet a live Lion?

Maybe take it completely and totally apart and put it all back together again..That's been known to fix some problems before..Or maybe just try removing the cooler and reseating the CPU and/or RAM first.

I would unplug my card and memory before the relocation. Anyway, you should check the pins of the pieces I mentioned, and reinstall your cpu. Doublecheck anything.

Good luck!

Do you have a giant air cooler on your CPU? If so, I hope you removed it prior to transporting your PC. Even a minor bump generates several pounds of torque on the socket. Based on your description, the first thing I would do is remove the cooler, and inspect the socket and reinstall the cooler. If you have an AIO, this is not as much of an issue but, given your description, it sounds like a socket issue.

Thanks guys.
It has an AIO. The manual says it has LEDs for if there are issues with the CPU and RAM. I suppose there's a chance those are satisfied but still not working.
A funny thing is, that this computer I'm writing this with, has a big air cooler and went through the same move. I'm reluctant to remount the cooler, because I don't know how much paste I have left. I suppose if I end up doing an RMA, I'll be doing that either way.
I'll let you know, how it goes.

My blunder seems to have been using too much liquid metal thermal solution on the CPU. When I packed it, I placed it face down. At some point in the move, a drop fell onto the RAM stick. When I unpacked it, I laid it on its back and the drop slid into the pins.
I've tried cleaning it out as best I can, but the damage may already have been done. There is no change in behavior.

Hey! That's unfortunate... but it's just a computer and it looks like that the rest of the move went well.

I was going to suggest if you did not have success, using solder wick, or if you don't have that, you can frizz out some fine copper wire to do the same thing. The LM will stick to the copper.

Edit... I was just thinking it was fortunate that it did not land on any power pins.

They probably took a lot of cleaning work so "well done" on solving this issue.

Too bad liquid metal TIM isn't magnetic for situations just like that.
