Solution for no USB 2.0 header on mobo?

Could I just get a USB 2.0 to mini USB cable and plug it into an unused USB 2.0 port in the rear IO and connect the mini to the EVGA CLC?
 
Seems like a solution, but I better ask before I break something.

    Yes, you can use a standard USB to mini-USB cable to plug into the CLC cooler. We have done the same thing for our CLC cooler on our test bench and it works perfectly fine.

    I checked and there is indeed a USB 2 on the mobo.
