I would imagine the 2080 TI isn't as powerful as my titan V, and the Titan V can't play games at 4k @ 144 fps unless i bump some things down to high or medium , although depends on the game. Of course I cant ever SLI, whereas you can SLI 2080s so that would be cool to see. I'm still in wait and see mode. also, doesnt the 2080s use tensor cores for the ray tracing? Cause Titan V has a pile of those, does that mean my card can also do ray tracing?

I passed up the chance to get a 2080 ti FTW some days ago because I wanted sli and Bestbuy's 12 months financing. Also I heard the FE cooler will be greatly improved so the cooling gap should be closer vs the FTW3. Both my cards from Bestbuy were $2440 after tax.
 
I had a 2080 ti FTW in my card ready to order for $1400 after the shipping option hopefully I wont regret it.

Exactly, why wasn't this earth shattering ray-tracing phenomenon and FPS pushed when the Titan V was released?! After all, isn't the 2080/ti line closely related?? Benchmarks show an average of 26% on the Titan V over the 1080 Ti in real world benchmarks AND it has 5120 Cuda / 640 Tensor cores vs the 2080 Ti's 4608 / 576. Let that sink in a minute. Don't hate me here, just playing devil's advocate and looking past the marketing hype.

Titan V is based on the Volta GPU, it's a different architecture than the Turing GPU the RTX 20 series is using. The real time tracing is done not by the tensor cores but by some RT cores. Also Nvidia was supposingly working years now on bringing real time tracing to life, I'm not an expert who can say that this technology should be out 2 or 3 years ago, but judging from the silence of the red team then what Nvidia achieved is probably marvelous and it took them a long time to pull.

If the 2080Ti is within 5% performance of my V, I'll probably sell my V. I'll actually pocket some cash that way swapping it out with the 2080 Ti FTW3.
 
Of course, hopefully the 2080 Ti is faster than the V.

I gave up trying to preorder. I was always doing something else when they became available.

I would also like to see the benchmarks, though at this point I almost dont care as it would be a massive upgrade. Are those still believed to become available tomorrow?

Yes, I know...$50 higher than direct from EVGA.  B&H has been very good to me, no taxes, and free 2 day shipping.  I returned a couple expensive pieces of hardware (x299 Asus Prime Deluxe and EVGA 1080 ti Black) to them due to minor annoyances and the refunded no problem...plus I slept through the EVGA pre-orders.  I have pre-ordered from them before and they have been on par with newegg and faster than amazon as far as product in hand after release.

Very tempting...

Ya I switched my order from EVGA to B and H since they ship direct to military APO and EVGA doesn't. Will save me the hassle of having to ship to family in the US, but I will definitely get the card later...

I really want to do that B&H option but I haven't ordered anywhere but directly from Evga since I picked up a 570(I think) at Best Buy a million years ago lol. Keep hoping for one more chance here.

My preorder on Newegg now says release date: 9/27/18. So perhaps all 2080 TIs are delayed, not just the NVIDIA FE.

I don't mind the wait as I am on vacation until the 1st of October. I haven't any such emails saying anything yet as I didn't order the 2080Ti XC Ultra. But I never ordered mine from newegg though.

I ordered 2 2080 ti's one on the 23 and the other on the 25 of last month from bestbuy but haven't heard anything. My nvlink bridge will ship on the 20th though lol.
