HDR10 is for panels with 10-bit per color designs. Some panels claim more but only IPS are honest colors, not so sure about others

I was eyeing that display up for my next upgrade, but then I found out it was 8-bit +FRC which is a complete deal breaker for me. But the resolution is perfect for PC gaming IMO. Luckily right after I found out about the +FRC downside, I discovered LG OLEDs were gaining G-sync support and 48" model next year that through NVIDIA control panel I can customize that same resolution and I no longer have an interest in that display, even if they dropped the price by $1,000.

Can you imagine letting yourself pay $1000 for a monitor, much less almost $2000?

I can't, and I did... though I can't seem to remember how or why, but it was for the dell U3011. I think it was back when I had come into a fair amount of money, which is all gone now. Still, I look back on things I've bought and... well my interest in computers hasn't changed, nor has my income/expenses gotten worst. Just started thinking about money a bit differently.

I spent more than that on my LG OLED and don't regret it one bit.

So I love the thing. I had redone our kitchen and had 600 best buy bucks and suddenly they had one. I just am kinda surprised how much HDR on windows sucks.... or at least how complicated it is. I can't seem to figure out how to have the monitor auto switch into HDR mode when it detects a HDR source. It doesn't look good in HDR mode for working, so it would be nice if it knew how to switch by itself....

Same display I am currently using which I paid about $1250 and received a free wireless keyboard/mouse combo with it. I used student loans tho, and I am not regretting it. gutcheck So I love the thing. I had redone our kitchen and had 600 best buy bucks and suddenly they had one. As long as you have Win 10 you follow these instructions: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4040263/windows-10-hdr-advanced-color-settingsI havent tried it out for gaming, but I assume that if the game doesnt have the option to enable it in the Options menu then it would enable automatically as long as you were successful with the above instruction.

Sorry for the super late response. HDR works, but what it should do, is turn on when the PC detects HDR material like a TV does. It looks great in HDR games, but you have to manually turn it off when you exit, which is super stupid. One day I guess....

If I'd go ultrawide, I'd go 32:9, not 21:9. I like that it's 1600p though.
