Sad that the forum has become a troll zone.

Yes that one as well, but mostly all the new members posting to gain their 100 Posts.

I noticed we have a lot of new users today, any idea what's up with that?

I know what you're talking about though, especially with that one guy last night who kept posting one liners.

But why would 100 posts matter, I thought it just changed your title

One of the ways to qualify for Elite Membership is 100 forum posts. If you don't have any EVGA products currently this would be the only way to do so.

... and although you have people coming to get their 100 posts, it could also mean an influx of new people into your forums, with much the same interests as you.  So you can be elitist about "Dude they are invading my forums", or you could say "Hey!  How are you doing?" and make new friends.  Just saying.  :)

I agree with your second statement there.  I'm a moderator on another set of forums and have seen my share of spam posts from <insert country here> about the latest and greatest <insert product here>.  BTW, nice to meet everyone.  :)

I get what you were saying because I am guilty of posting a few "informative" or "very useful" lines as well, but in addition to those so-called "no-value" posts I have also started 3 of my own threads as well as responded to many other posts/threads in more than one line and in some instances just voiced my opinion.  Everything is just not as cut n dry or black and white in the tech community, it is a very diverse area.  And even though I been an EVGA member since 2012, I never rly posted anything until now reason being because an EVGA rep spoke with me today in regards to ways of getting elite membership, which is needed for dif color FTW3 cards,  and if i Knew 3 years ago when i built my last system about this special membership, I wouldn't have to scramble an try to do 100 tedious posts on-topic or off-topic because I would have just submitted my info for my 2 EVGA parts and that would be all I needed.  So please don't judge ppl esp new members, ppl in general need to realize that the forum community is actual consisted of human beings and not "robots" just let a little diversity in your life, stay positive and make friends that share your opinions on things and your viewpoints.  Its as ez as that.  of course you are entitled to your opinion as well whether it's "forum trolling" or "off-topic" posts.

Well you only have less than 30 Post to go so after that maybe things will settle down.

I know, will you be getting one of the colored ones too???

I wont be posting as much because I have a life haha, but new members will keep pouring in, so don't get hopes up.  And it was my fault for not doing my research 3 years ago, this posting is taking alot of energy out of me. Not doing it to be annoying but i am "DETERMINED" to get that 1080ti for my upcoming build and EVGA let me know this was only way.  Need the blue or black for my color scheme.  Nothing is worse than a rig that doesn't match

Welcome everyone to the forums. It is a great community.
I am all for new people joining in and old member posting up.
But can you lower it to just 50 posts or member for 3 years.....Just a thought.

No problem with new members, I'm relatively new here myself. It's just having a ton of new users on the same day is kind of weird around here, especially since I joined during a downswing in forum activity. I'm used to seeing posts from the usual folks.

As for the one liners, I'm not too up tight. For instance I don't have an issue the four word thread, the "what are you listening to" thread, or the meme thread like some people around here do. Those are just dumb fun

It's just the one liners don't add much to a topic, so they aren't very interesting or substantial posts.

First, Semper Fi.  (1st Radio Bn, 89-93).  Second, this requirement is to either A) increase awareness of the forums or B) increase brand recognition.  500 or 1000 posts would have made it unattainable and no one would have bothered.  For me, this requirement made me aware that the EVGA forums still has an active community.  If you take a look around at a lot of other post type forums, they are dying off with users moving to Reddit.

I think rather than number of posts. 5 million folding at home points or 2.5 million BOINC points.

I'm actually looking at the folding stuff right now.  I got a media server that sits unused for 60% of the day and is always on.  So if I can configure it to not do folding when PLEX is streaming, I'll be signing up and joining the EVGA team.  I used to do BOINC/SETI, a long LONG time ago.

Should have made it 500 or 1,000 posts...
I have no problem with new people. Make them work for it with meaningful questions, answers, and comments.

I would even be ok with a 50,000 post minimum.     ;)

You've averaged ~14 posts a day for your time here. :-)

the 4 word post?  can't disagree there ;)

Yes that one as well, but mostly all the new members posting to gain their 100 Posts.

We need more spam.  Lets start a 5 ,6 and 7 word topics or how about  "name this song" members post song lyrics and other members try to guess the song.

All the new members working on post count, they can go around posting smilies faces in topics.

Joined almost 9 years ago and at the rate I post I'll move up from new member to superclocked in a year or two.
I post a lot more at the Beretta and Miata forums. Still a lot of activity on both of them. Unless I'm doing a new build or having a problem with my computer about the only forum I regularly check here is General Discussion. I check the new hardware and software forums occasionally.

I think rather than number of posts. 5 million folding at home points or 2.5 million BOINC points.

I'm about to hit 5,000,000 folding....

Well I guess a Single  would be a lot better that then a single line of Cool Info or Nice Info.
