The thing is that the Nu Audio is a bit of a niche product and as such EVGA perhaps shouldn't go out of their way to give a one fingered salute to those who don't consider the "One update, one BSOD" OS (namely Win10) to be a viable option to a well behaved system such as Win7.

I am impressed by the hardware of the Nu Audio and I have one installed, and the drivers are still woefully short of the hardware's promise.

Why does EVGA go out of its way to piss people off like me who use Win7 when there is basically NO REASON FOR IT BECAUSE WIN10 IS BASICALLY WIN7 UNDER THE HUB????

Manufacturers make choices. I had an Auzen Prelude audio card that eventually had a great set of drivers under Win 7 but when Win 10 came out they didn't do any driver development, at all. Creative, who owned the base drivers, would not support the card, either. The only thing that you could use were hacked drivers, which eventually became unsupported. Another expensive piece of hardware to recycling. Not the first time, nor the last. I can't speak for EVGA's decisions, but their business choices are not unusual nor unexpected.

However, if you are running Windows 7, did you have a look at this?

I have the Nu Audio card running on my Win7 system and it does its job pretty well.

A lot of people have not bothered moving to Win10 because of all the various issues it has - especially privacy issues, the extent of which make the accusations levelled against Huawei laughable.

So Win7 can go and to themselves? 2019/06/02 11:26:49 (permalink)
According to Microsoft sales of Windows 7 ended October 31st 2013. End of Life for Windows 7 mainstream support was January 13th 2015. In January 14th 2020 all support for Windows 7 will end. While I liked Windows 7 it's pretty clear by Microsoft that in the next six months they want people to move to Windows 10. You might be able to use older hardware that supports Windows 7 but when it breaks down the new hardware will not be supporting Windows 7. It's kind of like how everyone liked XP before being forced to Windows 7.

I'd like to clear up a couple things.  We have not ended Windows 7 support for the NU Audio Card.  We removed it from most of the marketing materials to make sure that people would not be confused about the new Nahimic features and whether it was supported in Windows 7.  Bug reports and other issues will still be fixed.

As for the new software features, the API used for the Nahimic content only supports Windows 10, so we are limited in providing support on other OS versions for those features.  Ideally, we would provide support for these features on all versions of Windows that we can; unfortunately, we are unable to do so.

I'm not arguing about Win 7 vs. Win 10. We all make choices for various reasons. I choose to run Win 10 Insider Preview Build 18908 (right now). Glad to hear the OP's question (and I am sure others will ask the same thing) was cleared up.

What I like about Windows 10 (besides Dolby Atmos and Sonic) is that they will actually allow you to download a legit copy and put it on a thumb drive for setting up a new machine, and then when you are ready and things working out you can pay for your license and kill the nag screens.

I also am not trying to bash Windows 7. I did really like it. It's more of that at End of Life by Microsoft it will quickly start to become harder and harder to run.

I've noticed no problems software wise, and I'm running Win 10 x64. This Nu-Audio is coexisting with a Focusrite scarett 2i2 usb audio interface. And I'm actually pretty surprised how easily they live together. Windows back in the day I would probably have had an IRQ nightmare trying to get 2 soundcards to live together in harmony.
