Is this a major problem or something I can ignore?

This would be odd and might be a cause for concern, please remove the card and take more photos for review, please send them to support@evga.com

Is it strange for boards to do this often? I have a rather heavy 1070 that's starting to bend and my 970 did the same

I just actually lolled. I was on my phone texting and didn't look at the post when I clicked on it. I looked up and just started dying laughing. Sorry. You should definitely contact evga but you probably won't be able to get a replacement card. I don't think it's something to worry about though. If your semi-skilled with electronics and would feel comfortably taking apart the card you can reseat the gpu shroud. Taking apart the gpu will not void your warranty but I would talk to evga first. Any rma would be months though.
