No Nvidia, EVGA, ASUS, Zotac, and the link need to lean on Ebay and get Ebay to block all listings of these cards.  Ebay had done that for other items in the past that were being priced insanely high because of demand.
Ebay wont do it on their own, because they make $$ off stupidly high sale prices.  The only thing that'll get them to act is if enough Industry partners lean on them. 

But all of that is still a side show.  EVGA needs to learn how to keep a website running.  The fact that traffic on their webstore takes down their *ENTIRE* domain is pathetic.

Well without knowing how many were for sale it's hard to know the score.  However, there is already at least 3 ebay listings for 3080 ftw ultras.

Theres literally people on Twitter telling EVGA there running bots.. ****

Yeah....today (9/23) was the THIRD time I got something into cart, went to checkout, verified my info, and had the website stall out. Once it finally refreshed, all the items were out of stock. It's getting really old, quick.

I feel like someone should mention this: There is a possibility they will cancel multiple orders when they find them to be from Bots, so keep an eye out, they may come back in stock again in about an hour.

They can do that. But they need to fix their store server that is now on the side of the road burning in a dumpster.

Aint going in stock any time today, twitter already confirmed it will be added to the next "launch" aka bot pile up.  They are just now considering they might need to add captcha to their broke checkout system.  All after telling us there is no bot problem, all while not realizing that Nvidia tried to do the captcha game and lost to bots yet again.  This company is lost when it comes to 2020.

Why would they implement pre order when scalpers buy everything? That’s 100% sale of inventory, if they had pre orders than they wouldn’t get scalpers money right? I don’t even have video card right now waiting for this one, by the time situation stabilizes big Navi will come than maybe we can pick something right away that fits our needs.

Because then they would build a database or queue of paid orders and easily eliminate duplicate credit cards/shipping address/IP address/etc.  Sure a scalper can still get in line, but only get 1 spot in line.  Then as new human orders get in line, hundreds of bots infront of them get removed as the queue gets served as stock comes in.

Sad, but I wonder if Captcha would make it worse for humans.  The bots can circumvent it.  Humans however take a little bit of time to do it and then the evga servers seem to get bogged down transferring between tasks, so adding a task sounds like it might just create more problems.
 
I get the impression there is no easy answer.

They should require for checkout:
1. An account on EVGA's site.
2. Two form authentication via text to the number on your user profile.
3. A captcha.
 
That would help a lot. They should also review if 50 orders came from the same IP address, physical address, etc.
Also, not removing items before you can even proceed through checkout would be nice. Remove them from stock for 5 minutes in case the site times out. (Which it will.)

Ask folks who tried to buy FE cards today how the captcha worked for them. <another epic fail>

I don't think there is any company in the world (Evga included) who actually care who buys their products as long as they get sold. They simply don't care that's why nothing changes. The bottom line is the most important. Unfortunate but true.

Unfortunately I agree and I said the same thing on another forum I frequent regarding this.
At the end of the day, EVGA exists to make money. The money is all green whether it comes from you, me, or a bot...

If something isn't done about the bots and scalpers, we will never get cards. If they continue to get all the cards on all the sites, then all of us gamers will just have to do without or pay the high prices. Which i personally will never do so i guess ill be without lol.

I keep coming close to paying the insane price on eBay. But then I convince myself that EVENTUALLY it's going to feel great to get one at the normal price.

I agree 100% . If something isn’t done quickly then the scalpers will be the only ones with stock gpu’s . People will give in if they wipe the market out with no hope of getting one before Christmas and possibly even further out.

I understand preorder for us genuine consumers but I am saying on business wise, scalpers buy everything and some users get lucky with left overs. All these companies know this will pass by...but what matters NOW is that their inventory is already sold out which for them saying is...we are makin a killin right now.
