Not sure if it is worth it but I could sell it on ebay and get a decent price and maybe get a 6900K or 6960X? Thoughts?

So there aren't any viable CPU's that are better than the 5960x? Really?

Best cpus at this time would be the 6950x, 6900k, 7700k, & 1800x. Worth upgrading to from a 5960x? Debatable.

I had to give it a try, the Intel Core i7-5960X CPU is the best one I own and would love to have a second one. Maybe next year when the X299 comes out we will see what we can all do.

NO!!!! I have a 6950X and that baby cost me $1650. Unless you are running a 3D modeling program or a Photoshop thing, no. If you want to play games then go with something like a Haswell, games you don't need the extra cores. My Broadwell-E chip works well with programs that edit video but not so well as playing games. The 4 core chips work better with games.

Listing was ended by the seller because the item was sold. What is wrong with your Current CPU?
look at the sale price... nothing is "wrong" with it... it just doesn't perform like I expect a $1k CPU to perform i guess.
The Sell Ended Dec 01, 2015 , 11:38PM see if you can find another one that is Active, I cannot find one. Mine has been running @ 4300MHz From Day One. You are NOT going to get any more Power From the Xeon CPU's you are looking at. They will NEVER run @ 4000MHz. Are you under Water? What are you Using them For?

What? My Xeon 1660V3 runs at 4.4GHz, and my Xeon 1650V2 runs at 4.5GHz as they are both multiplier unlocked.
Granted, Intel finally decided to lock down the 1600 series with the V4s.

I thought that most of the V4 if not all are locked down? This was why I did not get one if I remember.

If you don't mind me asking, why is that one and maybe a few more so cheap and the rest for thousands? I understand being used would be less than brand new retail but why so low? I mean this got's me all giddy by the time maybe in a year or two to grab one of these for more cores for the heck of it over my 5930K.
That's an Engineering Sample, ES, chip. Technically the property of Intel and cannot be sold and are supposed to be returned to Intel if you have one. ES CPUs lack many functions that a full retail chip has. Qualification Samples, QS, chips fall between ES and retail chips and are often every bit as good as a full retail chip. ES chips often have issues running stably in certain motherboards that lack compatibility. QS chips will rarely have that problem. Retail chips rarely have any issues that can't be addressed by updating the motherboard BIOS. Therefore, ES chips are fairly cheap. QS chips are usually only a bit cheaper than full retail chips.
