definitely wait.at least till Alder lake comes out.and even then wait to see stability and performance.i broke my rule about this with
the 3000 series card (rule..never buy first year new tech) and am now paying for it.at least the 3090 is a unstable 2000.00 mess.
that i dont expect will make it more than 3 or 4 years before most of them will die (speculation) at least the 2 ive owned so far.
so do yourself a favor and wait it out wish the hell i would have.

If you are an Intel fan then wait as forum member Guydodge1021 has recommended. Finding a high end GPU will be problematic due to the worldwide chip shortage.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

I'm hearing some early hype about Alder Lake, but I think the whole multi-size core bullcrap is going to be a hot mess in implementation.   I'm waiting for a 10nm superfin 12-core monolithic processor (already exists as Ice Lake-SP/WS).

When I learned that my PC (below) wasn't compatible with Windows 11 (I'm sure I could force it, but I wouldn't want it to come back and bite later down the road when it needs to be patched, etc) I started speccing out a new one.

Do you absolutely need Windows 11? What does 11 do that 10 can't?

Eventually Win 10 will stop getting updates and/or security patches.

My Current PC: Victory Saber
EVGA X99 FTW
Intel Core i7 5820K - 3.30 ghz (stock clock)
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (4x4GB) DDR 2666
EVGA GTX 1080 SC2
EVGA Supernova 750 G2
2 TB WD Black (64 mb cache, 7200 rpm)
Apevia X-Dreamer 4 Black/Red
Windows 10 Home

Yeah like in 2025.  Or like 2029 for LTSC.

Better start planning ahead now.
