I know there is a beta bios for this card available.  But I just installed it and updated to the latest Nvidia Game Ready driver.  
 
I then installed Precision X1 and the first thing it tells me is I need a firmware update..  Is this normal or is it trying to update to the Beta version, which I don't want..?
 
I am trying to set the card up in steps to see if I notice if something starts causing to run warmer than it now..

    No need to update if things are working without issues. It’s not trying to update to the beta vbios. It’s trying to update the mcu firmware.

    Thanks for the response, but the Precision X1 utility will not run until I allow the Firmware Update..  I don't know what MCU firmware is, it just states firmware upgrade .. and of course, no indication of version of the update or anything else I might like to know..

    just let it update, its for the rgb lights to have more zones you can change

    Yes the firmware is the mcu controller for rgb and fan control, you should always update it. I have found best practice to disable antivirus and malware software before doing the update though.

    OK, since you all seem to agree, I will wait until tomorrow and then allow it to update..
    If it means anything, I was playing a game last night and the fans were fairly quiet except every now and then they would speed up and got very loud.. I did not notice the game being more intense when this happened..  Something I will keep an eye on after the update..
