I ended up removing an individual wire from the plastic motherboard connector from a EVGA Supernova 1000 G2 Gold while wiring and ordered a replacement kit 101-CK-0850-B9 as a replacement. After the package arrived I swapped the plugs and tried to turn on the PC, but it didn't boot. The motherboard RGB turned on after plugging into the wall, but absolutely nothing else happens - even when the power button is pressed. No fans, no screen, I would have thought nothing at all was happening if the RGB didn't come on.
After plugging the wire into a Thermaltake Dr. Power II everything except 5V came up as a failure. I'm curious if I simply ordered the wrong kit, or if this wire is damaged. I was able to test the PSU and system again with a borrowed cable from another G2 and the system powered right up.
