I ended up removing an individual wire from the plastic motherboard connector from a EVGA Supernova 1000 G2 Gold while wiring and ordered a replacement kit 101-CK-0850-B9 as a replacement. After the package arrived I swapped the plugs and tried to turn on the PC, but it didn't boot. The motherboard RGB turned on after plugging into the wall, but absolutely nothing else happens - even when the power button is pressed. No fans, no screen, I would have thought nothing at all was happening if the RGB didn't come on.

After plugging the wire into a Thermaltake Dr. Power II everything except 5V came up as a failure. I'm curious if I simply ordered the wrong kit, or if this wire is damaged. I was able to test the PSU and system again with a borrowed cable from another G2 and the system powered right up.

I looked up the cable set: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=101-CK-0850-B9
and it shows G2 as one of the supported, and the 20+4 pin motherboard isn't likely to be confused for another cable, it's possible it wasn't seated quite right, in which case switching back and plugging it in again might fix it, though it's also possible it's a defective cable.
In any case it appears to be compatible, so I'm leaning to it either not being fully/properly seated, or a defective cable.

Thank you. I tried it a few times and attempted some due diligence before wondering if it was incompatible. I'll see about a return, but don't see a way to return cables without registering a PSU.
