Square Enix has released free demo versions of Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam), allowing gamers on all platforms to try out the game before committing to its purchase. The demo will include the opening sections of the game, which will include the Journey to Cozumel and The Day of the Dead scenes, with the demo offering the ability to retain their progress if they decide to purchase the full game on their same platform.

Sadly, the Steam demo version of the game is not available at the time of writing, though it is expected to become available later today. Our advice is that if you want to purchase the full game, wait for the Steam Winter sale, as Shadow of the Tomb Raider was available with a staggering 50% discount during the Steam Autumn sale, making the game £22.49 in the UK.

I guess it might be good for anyone that has never played any of them before,..... but for most of the world , pretty sure it's going to be exactly like all the others.

    * which were good by the way ...but   My only complaint is that they are sparse on actual raiding of tombs & tend to be a bit too much of action / shooting .

I agree that the new reboot trilogy is a bit heavy on the action set pieces and shooting segments, but SotTR definitely seemed a bit more conservative in that respect than the previous two. There also seemed to be more exploration as there seemed to be more challenge tombs, as well. Though, to my surprise, after completing the game, I wished there were more combat sections this time around. With some ofmthe new stealth abilities, I had a blast being sneaky. Of the reboot trilogy, I think SotTR is my favorite. Though, I still would've liked more puzzles and exploration. I remember back in Tomb Raider Underworld, there was a level, I think it was Mexico, that felt similar to a specific Zelda: Twilight Princess dungeon, in that the entire level was a series of interconnected puzzles. I'd like to see something like that in a Tomb Raider game again.
