Hello!
I am using my laptop to run  when i am not using it. I have a i7 6700HQ @ 2.6GHz, and a gtx 1070. I was wondering what the best settings were for the application. I noticed an area under the advanced control to add more slots. Is that something i can do to do more folding? I usually let it run while im sleeping, so i would like to max it out if possible. I just dont want to add cores and end up messing something up. :) Thanks for the help!

laptops typically do not have good enough cooling solutions to fold for hours on end and its not recommended. you can remove the CPU work slot to reduce the heat load as CPU's are not really cost effective anymore. As for the advanced options those really have little play in how the client works but you can view most options here

Thanks for joining us Tbp, Chris is right on,as usual. I wonder if a laptop cooling pad would make a difference. The only way to make a good bit of difference is add more GPU's.

ya know.... this makes me wonder how well those expansion GPU's over thonderbolt would fold... i would be very curious as to the performance of such a thing.

External graphics wouldn't be too bad depending on how many lanes got assigned to the thunderbolt port. I think they only use 4 lanes normally. You could probably keep the cpu cool enough to boost up assuming you don't fold any cpu slots.

This works pretty well for laptop cooling
