Senior Borderlands 3 developers leave Gearbox to work on indie project | KitGuru According to Axios, all six Gearbox employees had begun working on a new project, currently in pre-production, before deciding to leave the studio and work on an independent game. In a statement, Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford, said that all staff members left “on the best of terms”, he also confirmed that the group was involved in pre-production on a new project before departing.
As reported by VGC, the creatives leaving Gearbox include:
- Christopher Brock – senior producer
- Keith Schuler – lead mission designer
- Scott Kester – art director
- Paul Sage – creative director
- Chris Strasz – UX / game feel director
- Kevin Penrod – lead character artist
The Gearbox project that was in pre-production is separate from Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a Borderlands spin-off game with high-fantasy elements.
I wish the departing members good luck in their new independent gaming decision.
