Just got my new 1080 TI installed and LOVE it. I mean LOVE it.

However, I've got a frustrating issue that I haven't been able to locate a fix for yet.

I run dual monitors. My secondary monitor is an old 24" LED, so I use the Display to VGA adapter to be able to use it. My primary monitor is connected via Display.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro FYI.

On my secondary monitor I run my random programs, friends lists, Discord window, HWMonitor, etc etc. I have them all sorted and resized just right so I can see everything. I have about 4-5 windows constantly open on the secondary display. When I step away and Windows goes to sleep, whenever I wake up and log back into my account, all of my secondary monitor windows have been moved over to my primary and are sitting on my desktop. I have to move all of them back over, resize and re position, EVERY time I log back on.

Obviously this gets pretty annoying during a full day.

The most frustrating thing is I had a 1080 FTW2, and it didn't have this issue...so why would my upgraded card not have the same functionality? I'm lost...

Does anyone know a solution to this?

Simple Solution to this is to Un-Plug the Power Cable from the Monitor count to 5 and plug back in the Power Cable into the Monitor.
You must be using the Display Port *DP

Unfortunately this issue is fairly common, as the DP to VGA adapter is likely losing and regaining signal. Windows 10, unlike some older versions of Windows, will attempt to resize and move all icons to suit the number of monitors is detects at any one time. There will likely need to be a careful selection adapters or cables to not get this behavior. But I have experienced this issue myself running a TV and a monitor on the same system.

I actually have the same problem with my setup, however I don't use any adapter. Main monitor on DP and second on DVI (on a GTX 1060).
If I turn off the DVI monitor and then turn it back, nothing gets mess up. If I turn off the DP monitor and then turn on, then windows get all messed up.

This seems to be a driver issue, because with quadro boards where is an option under workstation called topology, that seems to solve the issue, however its not present for GeForce.
