Is there a database with a list of scalpers? I don't want to buy from them accidentally in the future when the shortage is over.

It is very easy to tell the difference between a legit seller & a scalper. A legit seller in North America is required by law to have a business license to sell commercially & they will abide by MSRP prices with only a slight markup. The reason for this is that must pay their fair share of taxes & collect taxes from you & report it back for income taxes. Prison time is lengthy for those that do NOT have a legit business license & registered with their city/country/etc. & sell mass amounts without one. Scalpers don't report taxes & most do charge you taxes but pockets it for themselves. Plus they sell way above MSRP prices & that is a dead giveaway. I have been running my successful business for 45+ years in USA & Canada & their satellite outlets in EU/UK/etc. & required by law to have a registered business license for all areas so anyone saying they do not require one is full of BS. Friends selling minor stuff to others at flea markets & such don't need one because that is casual/occasional & they are not running a continual business but just a random sale on stuff they are trying to get rid of.

Would that list include authorized EVGA resellers or are they magically a different case because of "supply and demand". There are no scalpers they don't exist everyone is just adhering to supply and demand like the retailers.

You would have to ask EVGA management that question since I am sure that they have a contract between themselves & both parties must abide by those terms in the contract. I am sure that EVGA dictates rules & procedures for their authorized resellers.

You're not wrong, but it's not hard to have a 'buddy' come through as soon as you open your doors and sell them everything at MSRP, then have them scalp the cards and pass the authorized reseller a cut.

Does that make NewEgg a scalper and not a reseller?

Funny enough, if a business sells a product, a business not an individual, the taxes are not something they can keep. They have to report and send all of the taxes forward. If they don’t, they will get run through by the IRS.
Most resale sites like Amazon and Newegg, automatically take those fees from the sellers that are individuals, and the seller doesn’t get to magically keep that money. Even EBay charges fees for selling.

Just go to the counting thread lol. It has 14,000 replies in 2 days. Its just a ton of guys going for their 100 posts for elite membership in the most BS non contributing manner. I know EVGA verifies posts for eligibility to its buy sell posts so maybe we will get lucky and people who did spam posts to get their 100 will be DQ'd from purchase

Even if scalpers are spamming to become elite doesnt mean they get to buy all the cards or a card at all. There are buying limits plus there probably wont be enough cards for all elite members anyway. It will still be up to lady luck.

Buying limit is a single card of each SKU of a gpu model. Spamming to become elite isnt the only issue when people are just buying the cheapest products to get elite for 0 effort.

Not sure Newegg qualifies as good guys... maybe just less evil? Their shuffle prices are pretty inflated, not scalper level but getting there

I wish BestBuy would institute a notify system... checking drops is getting very tiring and all I feel is defeated....lol

They earned the money before they spent it. Less effort? Idk about that. Time vs effort is the question here and its value is different for everyone. If you earn 100$ an hour buying products are not an issue at all but spending hours on end to post is more costly to you than buying 2 products. We should all just try our best and not be so stressed out about it. :)

Its online only. That got a bit tired of people camping in from of stores for days. Only chance in store is if someone got a card online had it sent to store and never showed for pickup, and an employee didnt snag it already. You could check to see if you get a microcenter store nearby, Ive heard some do get in cards that last a few hours.

I'm too backward to live anywhere near a Microcenter store, never even seen one. Closest one is a state over. God bless my red neck.

I really don't think there needs to be a database of scalpers. I mean its easy to spot a scalper by asking yourself the following 2 questions: Is the price far above MSRP? Do they have multiple in stock?
If your answer is yes to either, then they are a scalper and you need to look elsewhere

I feel like there are too many scalpers to make a list. plus everytime someone gets a rtx 30 series gpu they have the potential to become a scalper since everyone wants them so bad you can pretty much name your price

lol, this has to be the funniest post I have read. Scalper's DB? What if I sold a GPU for $50 over MSRP to a friend, am I a scalper? Stop wasting time worry about the scalpers and trust me, you will be more happy about your life.
