I'm putting this problem here in Software, because it has to do with backing up Windows.

Anyway, I can't back up Windows. It say's "No useable drives found"  &  "We recommend that you use an external drive for file history. Connect a drive and refresh this page or use a network location."

So why can't I use my internal hard drive I already have?

This can happen if you have any of your libraries (Documents, Music, Pictures, etc) mapped to the same drive you wish to use File Hitory with it outright refuses to do it. I just tested by moving my Music folder to my E:\ drive and I get the "no usable drives" message as well. After moving the library back to C:\ my E:\ drive is available for use again. I'm not aware of other potential causes of this.

Open "This PC" and for each of your library folders right click and go to Properties and on the Location tab, either you will need to set it back to default or move to a different drive.

I'll just use a thumb drive as an external back up then.
