Pictures of this card leaked a few weeks ago but now it has officially launched. In my personal opinion it will be an empty launch as all of the Cryptominers will buy all of the cards and there will be none for gamers.

I've really been wanting to buy a Vega card for the past few months, I'm pretty much an AMD fanyboy, but it's impossible to buy anything AMD right now for a decent price. It was always more price efficient to buy something from NVidia, but at MSRP amd held their ground somewhat (depending on the title). But now it's just a joke. I'm going NVidia for my next gpu. Despite all my monitors being freesync monitors. Which are fantastic. I really wish NVidia would just step up and support the open standard of adaptive refresh. I don't want to buy a new monitor, but it looks like I'll be doing that in the future.

Not a fan of the backplate.

Backplate would be better without the pulse paint. Or if they made an RGB pulse monitor display. Mhz and temperature go up, monitor starts to skip and turn red. Neat.

I don't like how half of the backplate is missing. Lol

That's the part I don't mind. As long as it prevents sagging and bending that's fine. But it also looks more mechanical, like an exposed engine.

Sapphire's Nitro + Limited Vegas are also one of the best looking cards out there. Very elegant.

I see your point. It is definitely unique. I'd have to see it in a machine before final judgement, I guess.

When you picture old VGA's with no backplate and all the solder exposed it looked dirty and disorganized. The backplate cleaned all that up, and here we have a VGA that has a partially exposed core but it looks clean. Like looking into the engine bay of a Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
