https://www.pcgamesn.com/nvidia/ampere-7nm-gpu-samsung-discount Nvidia’s status as one of Samsung’s 7nm EUV launch partners has once more been reaffirmed by a new report from Taipei, via ‘market sources’. The report also claims the first Nvidia chips to get the 7nm treatment will come from the Ampere GPU architecture generation in 2020. Now, the Ampere nomenclature has been speculated about before – as has Nvidia’s position as a 7nm EUV launch partner – but I wouldn’t necessarily take this report as any further confirmation that Ampere will be the architectural successor to the current Turing range of GPUs. However by 2020 AMD (in my personal opinion) will be at a very advanced 7nm or an even smaller die from TSMC.

It depends on the market that AMD decides to go for in future generations. AMD has given up trying to fight NVIDIA on the high end. Right now the best AMD card would benchmark against the 1080. We could see them go for the under $500 range and win that market with NVIDIA focusing on the high end gaming market and having total domination of that segment. I just hope we see NVIDIA hold off AMD but that AMD becomes more of a player forcing larger generation to generation improvements.

I have a feeling revisionist history will blame the 20X0-series price debacle on TSMC and Nvidia will deflect most of the blame by hopping to Samsung as a fab. Whatever works I suppose.

That may be good for nVidia but does it translate into lower prices for gamers?
Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition with the Corsair AX1600iWindows 11 on my ThinkVision 31.5 inch P32p-20 Monitor looks good.

Will it result in lower prices and will they feature Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCIe) 4.0? Otherwise AMD is having their fun in the sun with AMD VII 7 nanometer with PCIe 4.0 version launching July 7, 2019. I would like Nvidia to come down in price for my next Nvidia GeForce card in a future custom built computer featuring AMD Ryzen 3000 series and AMD X570 motherboard.

Xavier Zepherious Ampere is dropping 22-26 Mar 2020- at the GTC news source NVIDIA codename Ampere's first 7nm process GPU is expected to debut in 2020 GTC https://finance.technews.tw/2019/06/13/nvidia-amper-announce-at-2020-gtc/ their source came from Nvidia just 9 more months I suspect we won't see Consumer to fall 2020
OMG! What a glorious time to be alive! Anyone looking to buy a used RTX 2080 Ti Black + HC? I knew they were going to pop their head up eventually with the 7nm. Now just waiting for Intel to make the surprise announcement.....any moment now....
