We realize there are many of you trying to hit 100 posts to get Elite status, but for the love of God STOP THE DAMN NECROPOSTING! There are plenty of active threads you can use to spam on that don't involve digging up old threads wishing someone a happy birthday 8 weeks after the fact, or posting "May the Fourth Be With You, huehuehue" a month later, or making some inane comment from a month-old thread about a Chinese rocket falling out of orbit, or posting one word like "yes" or "good" or "interesting" on threads from a year ago, or posting the exact same off-topic question on multiple threads.. that's just SPAM and imo should be deleted and reset your post count to negative 100 for being a douche.
 
There are plenty of active threads you can use for spam - here's a few for example:

I wasn't sure what was meant by necroposting ... took the risk and clicked .  Thanks for putting this out there Nereus for those looking to boost their post counts.  It's going to be nice when tomorrow comes and goes so that things settle down a bit around here with spam posts and spam flagging. 

 it's been hilarious watching this circus. the best part is that all the people trying to get 100 posts for elite status either won't get a gpu or will get one of the new ti cards but they're terrible anyway and cost more than what any scalper would charge on cards you can get right now. hahahaha

I agree completely with Nereus and came here looking for a thread about this.  I understand the posting approach to Elite, get people involved with the community and interacting.  Sure I can get on board with that.  But to inundate threads with garbage posts that add nothing to the conversation seems counterproductive and a negative for those coming to the forums looking for valid input.  For those of us subscribed to some of the threads it is an unnecessary nuisance.  I'd implore EVGA to revisit this requirement and think of a potentially different way to approach it.

Spam and post lacking content along with thread necromancy can be annoying, but I normally just give it a mental eye roll, and move on as I don't think it's something that can really be lessened by asking people not to do it, hopefully the problem will drop down a bit after the 3070 ti releases, and there's nothing new people are jumping at to get. I don't see things changing til then. Which isn't say say I approve of any of that.

^Unfortunately, I do not see this ending until the 3070Ti releases.  Even then, we will be hit with a plethora of questions concerning the queue, time line of the queue, etc.  After that, 95% will disappear.
