Hi, I have a GTX 1070 FTW and I installed it 5 days ago and today I got black screen and very noisy fans it happened when I was playing Dark Souls 3 for about 2 hours and in the middle of a boss fight I got the black screen and now whenever I launch a game, lets say for example The Witcher 3, five minutes later my screen goes black and my GPU fans gets noisy and I have to restart my PC. even though my GPU temp rarely reach 72c before all that start to happen. Here's my spec CPU : i7 3770 3.4 Ghz. GPU : NVIDIA™ EVGA GTX 1070 FTW 8GB RAM : Kingston HyperX 16 GB (8x2) 1600Mhz. MB : Gigabyte GA-Z77 D3H. HDD : Western Digital WD Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache + 2TB Seagate SSHD SDD : SAMSUNG 840 EVO 120 GB, Crosair Force LX 512 GB. PSU : Cooler Master M2 850w Silent Pro Silver 80+. Cooler : Xigmatek Dark Knight. OS : Windows 10 Home 64 bit. Also I have not overclocked my GPU also its not on KBOOST mode. I'm really worried about my GPU I hope its not damaged. I also got my problems in games, Dying Light and Mirrors Edge. In Dying Light I can't run it on fullscreen otherwise I get a blackscreen (not a GPU overheating) and I have to kill it through Task Manager. but Mirror's Edge Catalyst is a different story. game runs fine but I get weird white fog which is very close to Faith "Character" Also it weird that MSI Afterburner says my GPU temp reached 75c also before that it reached 94c when I was playing Witcher 3 and I was looking at the GPU temp and it stays at 71 at must of the time. Also my GPU temp has never gone above 72c till today when all of this start happening. I also switched from AMD to Nvidia without formating my PC. But I deleted AMD drivers through DDU. Sorry for my English and thanks for reading. Update: I fixed the issue finally, it was caused by a power pin I haven't installed correctly. now things are back to normal.

How old is your psu? Have you tried a different set of pci-e power cables to power the card? Have you tried reseating the video card? Have you tried running the card in debug mode (#3)?

Hi Sajin, my PSU is one and half years old, also I did what you wrote, and I did everything you wrote in your guide you replied with and I still getting the same problem, my screen goes black, game is running and I still hear the sounds of the enemies and other players, GPU gets very loud and I was looking at my GPU temp and max temp. gpu temp when it crashed last time 69c max temp 71c also in Mirrors Edge Catalyst is so blurry and I can't see anything far than 5 meters away from me.

This sounds identical to the Black Screen 100% Fans Issue (actually seems > 100%) on 1080 FTW. This issue has been confirmed by EVGA to be a hardware defect, at least for 1080 cards.

Does the card black screen occur when running unigine heaven 4.0 for an hour at max settings?

Yes it happened after running Unigine Heaven for an hour. after I restarted my PC at the moment I opened up Google Chrome I got the black screen again. Now I can use Google Chrome fine but I have no idea how that happened.

Inside the motherboard bios under pc health status monitor the +12v reading for a few minutes to see if it fluctuates more than .05. If it does fluctuate more than .05 your psu may have an issue. If the 12v is solid I would recommend testing the card in another computer.

+12v is stable at 12.168v

First issue I've heard of it on the FTW 1070,s. I do have a black screen it happens occasionally maybe once every 3 days or so but...it doesn't ramp the fans up and all I have to do is switch my monitor off and on and it's all fine. Anybody have any idea about this issue? Thanks

I fixed the issue finally, it was caused by a power pin I haven't installed correctly. now things are back to normal. Thanks for the help everyone.

I meant the 8 pin PCI-E power connector.
