Hoping tomorrow the 3 slot NVLink bridge comes in. Found one at a SabrePC and verified to work with 3090's by Puget systems. It is originally an A6000 NVLink, but the A6000 and 3090 are both the same chip. Finishing up getting the cards both in the loop. Feeling very under the weather the last week so I've been moving at a snails pace with the project, a little bit each day. The looped should be done this evening and the NV Link in tomorrow sometime based on FedEx so far.

Nice. I have one KingPin with the HC block right now and ordered the Optimus block for it. Hoping to score a 2nd KingPin at which time I would order a 2nd Optimus block. Be curious to see what your scores will be assuming you're going to benchmark. I also have pair of 3090 FTW3 Ultra's that I might SLI as well, just for fun. I have 2 mobos with regular 4 slot spacing (Asus Rog X570 Crosshair VIII Formular and Asus B550-F GAMING) so they will work with the regular 4 slot SLI bridge. Curious what mobo you're running?

80/20 Fun/Requirement and that's just a 'guesstimate' at the moment.

Very similar, ordered the Optimus KPE block when they announced it. Recently reached out to them with the question of, IF I ordered a 2nd block would there be any way they could ship both at the same time or if their initial run is sold out already. Waiting to hear back. I have the Asus Crosshair 8 Dark Hero. So here is the EVGA 4 slot NVLink in place. I would have to remove the lower rad/fans completely. I have the loop done and filled now and didn't measure the slot spacing previously but this setup is 60mm apart.

NVLINK came in but I am letting the CPU OC program I use finish then get to seeing if we can get SLI enabled. Probably going to have to go back a few months in drivers to get the option. It definitely doesn't show in my current nvidia settings even though as soonas I booted Windows up a notification pop up state SLI was available, click here to enable: clicking there did nothing. ** these are 2 hydrocopper cards, 3999'S FROM evga not 3998 hybrid convertions to hydrocopper. So as close to 2 identical cards as I can get, serial numbers are close enough to be kissing cousins.

Had the entire system up and running, put a full load on both cards and they were staying under 50C after 3-4 hrs, single loop. I have a new distroplate coming that accepts 2 D5 pumps and can be set for dual loop. Going to try GPU's on one for a day or so, CPU 59590X on it's own, the smallest rad, and everything jsut running together with both pumps in series in single loop and see if there is any noticeable difference. Still waiting on the return Kingpin Hybrid / Hydrocopper to get back from evga, the return shipping must be close to pony express, once it is back I can tear it apart and start testing which component(s) popped and begin getting some replacement parts on order. Too bad TRY SLY is completely out, I still have a CPU motherboard that was made for TRI SLI but they are no bridges for 30 series to even make it remotely possible, well I guess anything is possible, I was reading about folks dremeling down into the PCB on 4 slot SLI bridges and laser printing to create 3 slot bridges... I'm not sure they were on the crazy enough side to try splicing to frankenstein a TRI SLI bridge.

Cool, what are you planning on utilizing the cards for? Gaming? Video Editing? Just curious on the 20% :) Looks great!

The 20% is video and photo editing. Photo editing for myself and hobby videos, a friend of mine has some quite large files so he brings them over on the weekend and I let my machine do his editing, driving here and home twice still saves him 10-12 hours I just let them crunch away while sleeping so it doesn't hinder anything on me and he gets some free GPU power. He was just about to get a current gen card starting looking now but I jsut suggested that if he is still ok with the current arrangement. Let's continue doing that and him just save for the 40 series or the workstation version and get the largest thing they offer right away. He was on board, we've been doing this for a little over 2 years so with no issues, 1 more or so seems fine to us.

Oh that's a great idea and nice of you to help out your friend like that. Goes to show it's about who you know ;) I suppose it does make sense if I had a 4k drone or something, I'd be doing a lot of video editing myself where this could come in handy. Anyway, cheers- enjoy!

Late day and I did not see this working so easily after reading lots of information elsewhere about SLI drivers being broken. But latest Windows 11, with latest nvidia driver, very mild OC +150Core +700Mem Netted a 28,033 @ # 69 in HoF I could gain a few more spots with just some fine tuning. Not planning on XOC bios. I do have a 1300W PSU but it's pulling close to a kilowatt as is. Cards were showing 470+, wasn't monitoring the CPU. Camping trip with my son starting tomorrow so maybe not too much more testing coming in over the weekend.

Yeah he does some fairly large files. Since we've been doing it so long, he purchased a 4TB nvme to put his project on then jsut brings that over and I connect to a free NVME slot and there's no transferring files. Me, I'm low hobbyist with the drone but more into photography, my wife and I use Sony A7R3 and Sony A7R4 has some large files but Lightroom + Photoshop doesn't get bogged down anywhere near needing the power these cards have.

Hey there I just wanted to say thanks for basically confirming that NVLink is supported on this Dark Hero board. It is the board that I have, and I'm looking to do a dual 3090 NVLink setup for running LLMs with. I needed to confirm a lot of things (that the board supports NVLink/SLI one of the concerns), so this was helpful. I have two distinct 3090s (an EVGA FTW3 and a PNY XLR8) but based on GamersNexus' video showing NVLink working between a 3090FE and FTW3 3090, I'm less concerned that the two cards won't link together. Now I just need to work on the hardware modifications to make the cards physically line up so they can be linked. In case it's not clear what the problem is, the NVLink bridge slot spacing is 4 slots, and the Dark Hero has the x8 x8 slots spaced 3 slots apart. I'll need the 4 slot spacing anyway in order for the top card not to get totally choked. It's interesting to note that the NVLink bandwidth here will be slightly less than a x16 PCIe Gen 5 link. Anyway, 3090s (I got both of mine for a total of $1300) look to be a nice sweet spot for value at the moment.
