Most x299 vendors are selling their boards with a nVidia SLI (Certified) logo on the box and in advertising media,

It has recently been found however, that few (if any) of these mobo's have actually yet passed certification, and nvidia have copped the brunt of a performance controversy for low scaling on a platform that wasn't ready for market.

Would EVGA like to comment on why they have gone to market touting certification that isn't completed?

Naturally, I have to ask  where has it been 'found out that few if any of these boards...'. Doesn't Nvidia still require boards be submitted for certification?
Edit...just thought I'd add I am aware of the widespread and ongoing issues with SLI on this platform. Sure is a curiosity it hasn't been fixed or more details on the precise problem(s) given.

ManuelG has stated that SLI certification is underway NOW, meaning for the past few months most vendors have been misusing the logo when their mainboards were infact not(yet) SLI Certified.

This whole x299 fiasco has been a massive disaster.

Manuel G has in fact stated this in the official nvidia forums. Though he was himself adding to the confusion by stating a new bios could solve the problem while I and also Raja discussed this issue and are undoubtedly sure it's a nvidia driver issue. Since older drivers are actually giving much better SLI performance.

    Update:

Sorry we do not do BETA driver testing but I did get confirmation that our next driver will indeed include the changes that restores optimal SLI performance on X299 motherboards.

Wow as much as I like nvidia cards for their performance. nvidia as a company doesn't give a... you know what about their customers. It's all business. Recently when enabling 3x performance on their Titan xp cards that was always there just artificially limited in the drivers just because AMDs compute performance was much better on VEGA and now they "restore" SLI that was probably artificially crippled in the latest drivers, because mobo manufacturers didn't pay the certification fee in time ;) yeah nice one. Hope AMD swings in strong with VEGA so we get some more hidden driver switches flicked.

my understanding is that the older drivers didn't have any qualified list of x299 mobo's and and unintentionally defaulted to allowing all of them, the current driver blocks them all while QA and certification is ongoing.

DX12 makes the future of SLi very uncertain.
Unless nvidia can make something proprietary they don't want to know about it.

Multi GPU in DX12 is in the hands of the game devs who barely bother porting games to PC let alone adding support for MGPU with two different technologies.

I believe I read that this issue is fixed in the newest drivers.
The issue was an Nvidia issue with the SLI certification for x299.

    X299 System:
    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit | Intel Core i9 7900x (4.4 GHz)| ASUS Rampage VI

Meh is rather underwhelming as a description. What do you have to compare it with? I'm genuinely curious as I may go SLI myself..but on X99.

I'm  running 4/way sli titan x (Pascal's) on my x99 classified MB also with no problem and some insane numbers ounces you unlock 3 and 4 way. it is easily done. just 2 fill that have to be enabled.  but for it to work you have to have 4/way MB and have to have 4/way v2 bridge . and with the drak coming out and evga coming back out with the v2 . leads me to think NVidia is going to unlock it again do to amd. I was about to drop about 10k on a amd 4/way reg. I think I will wate and see if i'm wright.if I am thjey come out with new cards that have 4/way and ares wont lol but I can tell you how to fix it. but I think I want to build a 18 core and a drak with my 4 titians .

Is it me or does it seem we are getting rushed platforms recently with what seems to be an increased number of problems? This goes for both sides of the camp and just targeted at intel or amd.
