Hello everyone,

I'm having strange issues with my battery for a few weeks.

Mainly, i ca'nt charge it past 92 %. And, worse, the computer shuts down around 25-30%. No alert, nothing, it just shuts down completely and i have to plug it in order to restart it.

I am a little lost, because it looks like an hardware issue, despite the fact the laptop is young (5 months).

Thank you in advance for your help !

    Hi,

There is another thread on the battery issues but I have been lead to believe that the battery "plugged in not charging" status is normal when over 90% in certain circumstances.

The shutdown issue could be that it is going into hibernation mode (have you checked to see if there is a limit set before this happens?) or that you have a power saver mode enabled? I could be wrong but its somewhere to start.

    Good luck!

Hello thnak you for your reply. I checked and there is no option activated regarding the shutdown issue. The strange thing is that it happens randomly between 25-30 %. It's not like automatic.

If you do decide you wantto RMA the laptop before the end of the year. You might want to start the process this week. Dec 21st 2018 will probably be the last day for RMA replacements and orders being shipped from evga.

3-5 day for RMA to be shipped to EVGA (depends where you live and which shipping speed you purchase)
    2-? days for processing
3-5 days for replacement to be shipped to you (ground shipping, unless you want to pay to expedited shipping)

Yes thank you. I'm contacting evga France in order to know how to return the laptop.

    Check your settings

(linking photos seems broken in this section of the Forums)

Go here ---> Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options

         select "Change plan settings"

takes you to ---> Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings

        select "Change advanced power settings"

Opens "Advanced settings" dialog box, scroll down to: "Battery"

    Check your settings for:

    "Critical battery notification"
    "Critical battery action"
    "Low battery level"
    "Critical battery level"
    "Low battery notification"
    "Low battery action"
    "Reserve battery level"

I already did that. For example, critical level is 5 % et low level is 10 %. Problem is the laptop shuts down around 25-30 %, and 10 minutes ago it was 40 %. Thank you anyway !
