Hello EVGA folks,

All USB ports seem to be always on even when my laptop is turned off. I like to disable always-on USB but failed to find an option in BIOS. Where/how can I disable in? Other laptop vendors (e.g. Lenovo) provide SW tools to enable/disable it

Thanks
Allen

Most people like being able to change something like a phone even with the laptop being off. Is there a reason you would want to disable the feature?

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.

No, there is no "solution". It was a design decision EVGA made which is permanent hardware "feature". Why EVGA didn't make it software controllable like other manufacturers, who knows.

It is assumed to be one of the reasons why these laptop batteries drain to dead within a week after the laptop is turned off and stored unplugged. The buck converter and voltage regulator circuitry appear to be constantly operating and, even though they should be quite efficient, they create a constant parasitic load which adds up over time.
