Purchased SC17 gtx 980 version on special offer from Scan in the UK at start of december. Plan was to use it for video editing. Power supply failed on the first day. Faint clicking and light pulsing. Contacted evga support the same day and was told they would send a request to UK distributer to send me a new one. Coming up on one month and still no charger. Contacted EVGA who are apparently chasing it up. That's a month I've not been able to use new laptop and now with the intel fiasco and possible performance hit I seriously regret buying it.

Wow on the first day....that is really unfortunate. In that situation, I would of just returned the notebook, because it was defective. I guess now that you are waiting for over a month, that is not an option anymore and have to keep insisting with support to get a new PSU.

In hindsight I probably should have. Was a massive box to ship back and thought it easier to just get a new PSU shipped out. Didn't for a minute think I'd still be waiting after a month. I started support ticket on 8th December and now 11th January. Might need to speak to my credit card company.

EVGA is good on customer support in my experience. I have not had problems, but I do see how crazy it is. I am glad to see the EVGA forum folks jumping in on this though; it does show that these forums do work for more than just chatting. :)

Not in the UK though. 1070 still goes for £2399 (3260USD).

Yes, I had some Support Issue over the Holidays as well, but it is the Holidays and a 2 or 3 week break is good for all. All kinds of issues happen over the Holidays, Shopping, Missing Shipments, Broken or Damaged Shipments, and so on. What EVGA provides us that some others have issues with is Our Back.

That's me back in buisness, very happy. I've edited the title of this thread as did not feel it reflected well on the service I've received on this forum.
