Is this procedure a simple plug and play? If so, can someone please show me how? I don't want to damage anything by accident.

    1) Telling us which motherboard model you have would be extremely helpful.
    2) Why do you want to replace the BIOS chip?

    For illustration purposes only:

You locate the BIOS chip clamshell.  You open it up.  You pull the old one out, insert the new one in the same orientation, and close the clamshell securely.

Sorry, I have an X99 Classified motherboard which I just set up for cross ship RMA. Since I won't know what version of the BIOS will be on it when it arrives, I want to swap out mines (current v2.04) with the replacement because I have 128GB of memory and when I originally purchased my X99 Classified, I had to purchase a pair of 8GB generic DDR4 memory (which I was able to get a full refund back on it) to be able to POST and flash the version which added support for 16GB memory modules.

RMA motherboards always are flashed with the latest BIOs, so no need to worry.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA
