I give up. I regret trying a build a PC. I have everything except a GPU. And I can buy a prebuilt around the same specs and price as the PC I am trying to build. It doesn't look like I will be getting a GPU anytime this year so I am done. I am in queue but it would take several years for my place to come up at it's current rate. So I am dropping out. Good luck to everyone else. I am done might as well through what I have in the trash because it's no good without a GPU.

    The manufacturers can’t sell what Nvidia doesn’t supply because
    Nvidia can’t get wafers.

    Buying a temporary card is an option.  Buying a prebuilt computer is an option.  It's not eVGA's fault NVidia couldn't supply ONE OEM/AIB maker properly let alone all of them.  Not to mention you can probably resell all those parts & barely lose anything with how in demand parts are right now.
     
    Seems to me you just wanted to complain - that's what humans are best at & when they seem happiest, when they have something to complain about.

    I am going for the cheapest 30 series card I can get which currently is the 3060 Ti I am over 10k minutes away in queue and from what I can tell it's moving by minutes or a few hours every couple of weeks by that rate I won't be next in line anytime this year. And yes I am complaining but I am also dropping out of queue because there is no point.

    Nvida and AMD have both said that supply will be tight to the end of Quarter 1.
     
    Looking at retail stock in my country I see quiet a few 3070 and some 3090.

    I have two 3090s from two different manufacturers - what is this stressed supply chain you speak of?

    Also have 5950x and 5800x - managed to build two rigs.

    Sorry...it does suck...just poking the bear.

    The sense of entitlement is real with this one. Stuff is out there if you are persistent. I've had no problem getting many 3080s and 3090s plus a Dark Hero board and multiple 5000 series CPUs.

    your problem is waiting just for evga card on their queue, you need to start search other places... There are discord channels that drops notifications when bestbuy or newegg has stock... This is not being able to get a you is your own fault for limiting yourself.....

    I would of done the build in reverse hardest parts obtained first then it's easy street but in the meantime just purchase a budget video card you are in the EVGA que so you will be notify when it's your turn.

    I'm not calling anyone lazy. I'm saying that it's been a known issue that supply for these things (to even MAKE THEM) is low....of course it's going to be harder to get them.
     
    I think it's best to stay in the queue and continue looking...and then leave the queue *IF* You find one.
     
    If you're ok waiting on the queue, then just sit back and relax...
     
    I've been in queue for a 3080 since they were released. Not gonna leave it either.
     
    And yes, I have more than one other PC that needs a new GPU.

    I keep an eye out but the hydro/hybrid models are speciality models and most stores don't even bother to try to stock them. (It's really hard to even find a backordered listing)

    I'm like 300+ in the spreadsheet... just watch me sit and relax: By the time I get my card I'll be relaxed like nobody else, plus the pandemic might be over so there might be a point in getting off the couch!

    Seriously, this.  It's not going to be just handed to you.  You need to be both tenacious and prepared.  I've gotten myself a 3080 and 4 of my friends 3080s.  Get on the stockdrops discord.  Set up apple pay/paypal/best buy cc stored info/et al.

    Same - no delays getting components locally ... GPUs, CPUs always seem to pop up.
     
    It is taking a little longer to get things delivered from NA from Europe but that's understandable.

    Do you live 15min from a microcenter and have lots of time to camp out? I know the closest MC to me is over an hour away, and I've been beaten by bots or other people the 100 times I've gotten stock notifications from hotstock and tracking discords. The only thing I've scored this year was a 5900x and even that was a struggle and many "this product is no longer in stock" 2s after getting the stock notification. I work full time so camping a store isn't going to happen.
     
    It's not as easy as just being persistent, there's a lot of luck involved too. And it can get really frustrating.

    I am 55, and I am patient.  My current rig is custom water cooled I built when I was 48. That said, I am not savy with Discord. I have used it. Can you explain to me where to look or how to use discord to be notified of drops at other retailers? I would appreciate it. Currently I sit in the Kingpin queue and have nothing but time. Building rig with 5900 paired to a Dark Hero and 2 M.2 SSD's. I have a F-16 true to life cockpit with 3 surround screens for 270 degree of immersion video. Waiting on the board and the CPU and GPU to come into stock.  If you can show me how to acquire either the 5900 or the Dark Hero I would be in your debt.

    There are a lot of options out there for you to get your card other than the EVGA queue. Microcenter, BestBuy, Newegg, OG10K. You could go AMD as well. Yesterday they had cards available for quite some time directly on their site. They even had 5900x, and 5950x CPUs available.

    Just got a 3070 FE from Best Buy today just from reading about it on this forum. A bunch were available for a little bit, that was the only one that went through for me. I tried for the EVGAs but no dice. Ah well, the reviews on the FE are terrific so I'm happy.

    Based on your comments my advice:  Stay in the queue.  Buy a used EVGA 2080 Super for $600 or so off Ebay.  Make sure its new enough o get the used warranty from EVGA.  Done.  Alternatively you can also get a 3060 ti or 3070 EVGA card on EBAY from a scalper.. and get that used warranty.  However expect to pay a lot more then its worth.. as in like 300 above list minimum.

    The 3090's are pretty available... you're going for the highest value cards which are going to have the highest demand.  If you step up your budget you'll get something a lot faster.  I'm on a notify list for 30 series cards and multiple times a day various sites have 3090's for sale at MSRP.

    I have had 3 3080s and now a 3090.  I don't know if I have been lucky but it has been relatively easy for me to grab them.
    Sold them at cost on Craigslist when I was done with them. Canada computers doesn't sell online and only does instore back order so they bots can't scoop them all up and the ques move along fairly quickly. 
     
    Gigabyte Gaming OC 3080- Camped out over night for 12 hours at Canada Computers. 2nd in line the store got 3 total cards.  Ended up selling because I was only playing Warzone at the time and it ran like garbage, figured I would wait till the drivers matured so I picked up a 2070S and entered the Step Up program Sept 25th.
     
    Mid November it was clear my stepup was going no where so I started monitoring New Egg with Distill and put down a back order at Canada Computers for a MSI Trio 3080. About a week later was able to grab an Asus TUF on New Egg. It had terrible coil whine. I was also able to sell the 2070S for what I paid. 
     
    The MSI Trio backorder came in a few days later so I picked it up and intended to sell the TUF but the TUF clocked way better so I ended up just selling the Trio.
     
    Then a week later Canada Computers in store had a ton of FTW3 3090s. They sat on the shelf for over a week. I grabbed one and sold the TUF. I disclosed the coil whine but they didn't care, they were so happy I was selling it to them at cost.
