Cmon EVGA ,make a solution to the red lips for us who already bought the cards with the red trim , make a cover or something that hides this I don’t want to paint it myself and lose my warranty! Come up with a solution and add it to the accessories column on your website ill buy it if i have to. I can’t stand that red clown lips !

The tempered glass on the side of my case is tinted, so you can barely tell the red accent is there. I don't mind it at all, and eventually I plan to put a water block on the card anyway. As others have said, if it really bothers you that much, you can pick up a bottle of black nail polish for a few $ on Amazon and solve the problem yourself quite easily. I doubt EVGA are going to swap them for you at no expense if they do make black ones available, so also keep that in mind.

SOLUTION: Next time, vote with your wallet and buy a different card that has the color scheme you prefer. You knew what it looked like before you bought it. Alternatively, get creative and use nail polish or spray paint or whatever and take care of it yourself. It's not that hard to do!

I completely agree with that statement.  However, he's also not wrong that it's not as big of an issue as people are making it out to be.  It's just one of those meme bandwagon things at this point. Yes it's a weird red accent.  But it's on the side of the card.  I'm not saying you shouldn't dislike it.  And I'm not saying you shouldn't want a replacement part sent out, because EVGA clearly said right at launch that there would be black replacement lips available for people and they've failed to deliver on that.  But again - while it may be an issue to you personally, and while EVGA has so far failed to deliver on its promise, it doesn't change the fact that it's not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be.

We were used to not seeing anything in the PC because there wasn't any windows in the sides of the case or even color monitors back when we 1st started.
 
Granted I have been around PCs since the 1970's one way or another...
 
Yeah some do look nice and if someone is into that sort of thing that's fine, kinda like the car guys and their thing.

Yeah, it's really annoying me. lol I know it's a small thing but my case is on my desk, and it looks terrible with everything else in my build. I asked Jacob on Twitter, but got no response. I don't want to void the warranty painting it, but the stripe on top seems especially difficult to cover otherwise. Maybe I'll try a cut of adhesive vinyl or something...

I don't see an easy fix for this.  Most people aren't going to want to either send their card back to EVGA to get it replaced or take it apart themselves to do it.  I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel the replacement plans all together and just start giving the option to new purchases.  Man, life sure is tough out here.

for everyone that is being put down by the people in the evga forums saying its a "non-issue", feel validated by the fact that this post is at the top of r/nvidia LOL. but seriously a lot of our builds are a mixture of both form and function. if its going to be in my home, i need it to be aesthetically pleasing too not just a black box. i am okay with waiting a little longer for the replacement, but since EVGA announced so early on that they would allow people to switch out the red accents with black accents but have not given any details on how this is going to happen or when it will take place is probably making us all very anxious.
