Hey all, wondering if anyone has encountered this and has any suggestions. One of the LED's on the power connector for my 3090 is lit up red, PC won't post. I'm assuming it's some kind of power delivery issue. I am using 3 separate cables for each power connector, no daisy chain. It's the same power connector that has the LED lit up above it. Iv'e tried switching out the PSU cables with the extras that came with my power supply, same issue. Also tested with a different GPU and there is no issue (a 3080). Pc posts and gpu runs just fine. I have a 750 w 80 plus gold Supernova G3 PSU from EVGA. 32 gb of RAM, and a 5600X.

Sounds like you may need to rma your card. Have you tried testing the card in another pc? If no, try that. If the issue persists there then rma it.

If you already tried different cables, verified the connections, and tried the cables in different positions (yet the one LED lit remains the same one), sounds like she is dead. RMA; and request a Rev 1.0 model.

750 watt psu is too small to run a 3090, you need a 1000 watt or better psu or its just gonna give you headaches. The initial boot power draw is not going to be happy with that, especially if your on 12xxx series hardware. That red light always lights up when people have two connectors from one line on the gpu, so either its starved for power, the wiring in the plug you're using may be wrong or off or the gpu vrms are faulting. The 3xxx series cards are pigs. You can get another psu and hook them up in tandem to your rig and see if its the psu,the gpu or something else. You just need one of these: https://www.performance-pcs.com/cables/internal-power-cables-3-4-pin/ppcs-24-pin-power-cable-for-dual-power-supply-use-ppcs-atx24-dual.html   and another psu. Or take it to the nearest pc store and have them test it.

Bogus. Absolutely bogus to say that everyone with daisy-chains have that problem. [There are] People with daisy-chains [that] don't have that problem, and [there are] people without daisy-chains [that] do have that problem. The fuses blowing after VRM exploding can be explained separately from PSU choice, and there is zero evidence to predict which PSU will or will not cause a card's VRM to explode. It is extremely illogical to conclude that an under-powered PSU or cable will over-power a card; and all evidence is lacking.

His PSU may be too small, but it's not why the GPU isn't turning on. The power-on draw isn't too much to cause such an issue.

The GPU is dead, if all information provided is accurate. RMA the GPU, and buy a more appropriate PSU while you wait.

Is the 3090 a new component for your system and/or did it ever work before?

I agree with others that a bigger PSU would be ideal, even if the PSU is not the issue (it might be).

Did you plug all your specs into the EVGA power meter: https://www.evga.com/power-meter/  and see what it recommends?
It may tell you that a 750w is just fine, but I would disagree with that..  The fact that they are forcing you to buy a 1600w PSU with 3090ti KP's tells you everything you need to know about needing bigger than recommended PSU's for top tier 30 series.
