I normally check once a week to see if there are any newly released drivers for my hardware and found there were for my X99 Classified today.  I was severely disappointed to find that the Recon3Di driver was nothing more than DriverMax 7 that had been renamed to Sound Blaster Recon3Di .  So what gives?  This is my first EVGA motherboard and I'd like to know if this is a common practice as I've never seen this with any of the motherboards in systems that I've build previously.

I've done some searching and have found the only "updates" are by the usual suspect sites and Creative for the Recon3D (note, there's no i on the end).

Same here and I am having audio issues. Every once in a while my sound goes all garbled. Just randomly. So I tried that download link with the same results. WTH EVGA whats with the lame link to DriverMax?  Can anyone tell us where to get a authentic driver. SoundBlaster apparently doesnt support the onboard drivers. Atleast I couldnt find any.

First, you do realize this was originally posted FOUR years ago? Second, EVGA resolved this FOUR years ago. THIRD, don't download anything older than the most recent drivers. Fourth, EVGA hasn't updated any drivers for this board for well over two years.

If anyone ever needs a driver from a device that the manufacturer integrated, or the recon3di in this case, you can go to the original manufacturer page, recon3di, and load them directly from the manufacturer.

Motherboard manufacturers Do Not make drivers for integrated devices. They only hot link to the manufacturer drivers that support the device. Typically, unless there is a problem, the motherboard manufacturers do not update the drivers as the user should get them from the manufacturer that knows their device best.

I have 3 asus boards that haven’t shown a driver update in 4+ years and the asus website still shows the original drivers as the best, but if I go to the website for the device that is integrated, there are updated drivers.

Recon3Di (an audio chipset) is supplied by Creative to motherboard manufacturers such as Asus and EVGA and receives support from Dell, Alienware (part of Dell), EVGA, and possibly others.  Beyond what I have found for Win10 on EVGA (8-03-2015), there is nothing more recent on the CreativeLabs website (same driver).
