About to buy a ready built system. I was going to build but my head is spinning from trying to figure out what to get. I finally found a system in my price range that I think would be a good choice. I just wanted to some input.   Maybe someone has seen a similar or better system in that price range ?  I am coming from a i5 2500 k that I built back in early 2012. It currently has 16 GB Ram and an EVGA 1080 ti.  This system will get passed on to my wife who wants to start gaming.

So when I chose this system I was looking at getting the latest processor and the 2080 ti but is the latest processor just jacking up my price ? Could I go with a earlier GEN processor and get the same gaming performance I can with the i9 ?   Now if Im looking at just saving $200 to $300 by doing so I would probably stick with the i9 because I will use this system for image editing,  design work for my plasma table, etc...

Thanks for your input

Not a bad system at all.  My only misgiving is the Thermaltake 650 Watt PSU.  Shaving it a bit close with that.  I would try to upgrade to at least an 850 Watt PSU minimum.  The 2080 TI is a bit hungry at full load.  Giving yourself a bit of breathing room will be a good thing.

The prebuilt systems are ok, but keep in mind they may skimp on quality of parts; [generic] RAM, PSU, ect. It has been years, I bought from ibuypower for my son. It was ok, but nothing like what you can build for yourself.

If you're going with a 650 or 750 watt PSU I'd recommend at least a Platinum rated unit instead of Gold. It'll be more efficient while allowing for a bit more headroom with higher end GPUs. Also try and make sure it's a modular PSU. My biggest pet peeve with prebuilts is non-modular PSUs.

Only I can see wrong with going modular on a prebuilt is weather or not they send any unused cables with the system. If they don't and you add hardware later that requires another cable then you are having to procure the required cable.

Both me and a friend have both bought ABS systems, and they use better parts than Ibuypower does.
The only thing is, they both kinda skimp on the power supplies.
Also, if you want an sli system, you HAVE to order directly from them. Otherwise, you will end up like me having to replace the mobo to do sli.
Prebuild is cheaper than building yourself, without the headache, and ABS does a heck of a job on their wiring job also.
Oh, and this is the FIRST time EVER I have gone with a prebuilt (besides at work computers). I have been building my own since 1995, and like you decided it isnt worth the headache doing it myself anymore.

Just a suggestion: Go with a 32gb build, rather than a 16gb build. Its worth it. And, if you get a video card later that has 12 or 16gb memory, your machine will actually support it (nvidia STILL recommends 2x the memory of the video card).
