Hello,

I RMA'ed my GTX 970 last year and left it alone (this is where i screwed up ). I was in a spot where i couldn't really test out the card and only recently have opened the box to test it out only to find out it's DOA. Now i'm not really getting any help because EVGA TW aren't offering to help because the warranty ran out, even though the card did not survive 5 minutes out the box.

I know i screwed up because i didn't test out the card, but i feel like replacements should have a longer life span than 5 minutes out the box. EVGA TW said they can't do anything without warranty. Am i basically screwed out of a GTX 970? I'm not getting any support from their customer reps.

How long ago did the warranty run out?

The 970 was released quite a long time ago in electronic years.

    Ran out 2018 Dec.

Maybe i should just cut my losses. It seems like it's a common issue, getting faulty cards with replacements.

It’s actually not a common issue. While you may see what’ll err others have posted about a faulty card, there is many more that haven’t posted about their working replacements.

If the product had recently gone out of warranty, they may be able to do more, but 6 months out of warranty is a pretty long time.

I sorry that your card is not working, we do encourage people to test their replacements as soon as possible to prevent any problems. We can not overrule the Taiwan team on this decision unfortunately, you can email and try to see if they can work with you but the decision could have to come from them.

    Everything is security.

Alright, that's fine. I suppose the matter is closed then, even though it wasn't the conclusion i hoped for.

    Thank you.
