Over the last month or so I have been having random restarts. sometimes I am in a game, others I am just booting up, or shutting down. I was leaning to the PS going bad but lastnight, I got an error code of Code 116 which means its graphics.I normaly run 3 monitors and guessed that it may be my problem. Today I have been running prime95 and Heaven at the same time with 0 problems with only a single monitor. I have also enabled all three and did the same, again with no problems. Could it just be Nvidas drivers causing these problems? Really sucks to have the computer restart 4 or 5 times in ten minutes.

    Hello,

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having. Have you tried a clean install of drivers after using DDU?

Since you have two 9080's in SLI are you able to test each card individually?

I have removed the last drivers with DDU and installed the newest. Sofar I have not tested each card, just SLI with ran my tests without any problems. I am still running prime as I type this and no restarts as of yet. If I get a restart, I will remove 1 GPU and try that.

Ran memtest and I got several Errors.. now its time to just replace the ram, or build a new system. as you can see by my profile, the one I am using is pretty outdated and god knows what will fail next.

Reseat the memory modules a few times, may be a bad mobo DIMM slot connection, it happens..See Troubleshooting Memory Errors..Make sure the RAM is manually set to the Mushkin speed, timing and voltage specs in the BIOS and not on Auto..Find the Muskin specs on the sticker affixed to the modules or on their website..Try an older NVIDIA driver or two..Reseat the cards/test each card individually..I know troubleshooting can suck and be time consuming.

I will give that a shot, I think I did set the ram to spec and not on auto but I will double check.

yes they are. I have had 0 restarts over the last two days. The only thing that really was done was I installed new Ethernet drivers. I am still looking at a new build though haha

Sometimes you need to up the voltage of the cpu memory controller a little to get stable ram. Especially in this day and age of single sided memory, double sided, 2 slots, 4 slots, and extreme memory.
Rarely do you need extra memory voltage. Its probably 90 % you need to up cpu memory voltage.

this really sounds like maybe its a RAM issue, or on rear instances CPU over heat possibly?

because if it was an HDD, then you may most likely get "no boot device" or "no bootable media" error messages.  BSODs mainly seem OS based from my experience like if the MBR gets corrupted and such.

I know I'm late but did you ever pinpoint issue?
