I've seen a few post with people having some problems and I was a little worried about placing my $1800 order but I'm sure glad I did!
It's been running flawless for 3 days now mostly Warzone on the new Acer Predator XB323U 32" 170Hz (amazing monitor!)
Highest temp I have seen was 77 with my side panel on, 66 with side panel off, my side panel is only 2" from the card and is solid glass. Probably going to make one out of lexan with a couple fans on it.
I hope everyone gets there cards soon!

Glad it is running well, I hope it continues to do so for years and years..... as it should.  Mine ran great for two weeks.  I wish I knew what the reason for failure was.

Which department of EVGA do you work in?

This is true.  I would love a statement from EVGA about the cause.  Is it a defect in the cards, or is it something we as consumers can do to avoid the cards failing?  Avoid certain PSUs?  Avoid extension PCIe cables?  Avoid third market cables?  Would under volting save the cards from bricking if it is a voltage/PSU issue?

Mine has also been functioning flawlessly since I got it about 5 days after launch...
 
And even if it dies, I'll just RMA it....lemons happen...

This is what I am hoping for, that I just got unlucky.  but now I am paranoid.  Should I remove those pretty cable extensions from my PC?  All other cards work fine with them.  I guess I need to just assume it was a chance roll with a bad card as a result, and not anything due to my PC.

I have a new PSU from Corsair, RM750.  For a test bed I have a Alienware i7 with a 1000w, a old AMD with a 650w, a i9-9th gen with a 850w, and a shiney month old i5-10th gen with a 750w.  However I did use new cable extensions with the 3080 to make it look all pretty in the case.  And it did run perfectly for two weeks in tons of gaming.  No burning smell at all.... just failed one day and would not turn back on with one red light.

My EVGA 3090 XC3 Ultra Gaming has been running great too.  I'm very happy how fast it is and am impressed coming off a gtx 780.   I'm happy that is.. until I run some benchmarks and find it falls behind some 3080's out there, on par with some Titans and overclocked 2080 ti's!   I'm hoping it all improves once I upgrade my motherboard to something that's more recent than 2012.  lol

Well installed last night and actually didn't REALLY need to, but bought the 1000W Titanium PSU and yea, working great so far!! Have to admit though even though I'm excited I still am a little nervous of the possibility of it bricking only due to some of the threads here.
 
Anyways downloaded the latest driver 457.09 to desktop, booted into safe mode, ran DDU to shutdown, installed both components(I did use 3 individual vga cables), boot, installed driver. Just mentioning that for anybody that is looking for info on installs.
 
PrecisionX though, yea, I don't know. Jury still out on installing that. I do have to say though I don't like that there is no other option to controlling the LEDs. That I wish was a separate control altogether.
 
So far so good though cheers to other 3090 FTW Ultra owners! See ya in game!

My 3090 FTW3 Ultra arriving tomorrow.
I have updated Windows 10 to 20H2.
Downloaded latest Nvidia drivers.
Will be doing the clean install with DDU for the new card.
Downloaded latest Precision.
I also will be using the three separate VGA power cables.

just jumping-in because i am reading-up on RTX3090 FTW3 ULTRA threads in prep to install the one-- i received it last thurs. i won't install for a couple more days. AND in addition, because i only need two more posts to reach 200 total posts. YAY!!!!
 
but just as important is, wanted to mention--something i'm picking-up on: the 2nd BIOS (only switch to it with PC off?) makes it possible to have a more aggressive Fan curve and changes nothing else. Right ppl?
 
^^ is too cool because u need not; initially while testing new card for the 1st few days, install anything but bare nVidia drivers.
 
Edit: i forgot to mention that as far as LEDs go; once they are the way u like them u can uninstall PrecisionX because the settings are stored on the card. So for example having it just stay solid green all the time and never wanting them to be any different, u don't need PrecisionX. (At least this is how it worked for my RTX2080-ti. Example: when just said was done, even in Win7 without PrecisionX ever installed--my RTX2080-ti's LEDs remained solid green versus the ugly default blue they started out with--because with dual OS PC they had been set in Win10 with PrecisionX... and then i unstalled it.)

So another happy 3090 FTW3 Ultra owner, runs a dream, i have one gripe but that's not hardware related.
fps in all games is about what you'd expect.
If you play Ark Survival evolved or any of wildcards un-optimized messes.... the FPS bump is pretty big. i was getting on 2080ti an average of 50-60 fps in populated areas, now its in the region of 90-140 in some areas (1440p ultra everything). so pretty impressive to be honest.  Wow, sitting in orgrimar with the game at setting 10 (ultra everything) RTX off. 130 fps (busy server)
