So I have a corsair SF 750 PSU which has 4 slots labeled for 6+2 PCIe & 4+4 CPU (Shown in picture). Will I be able to use 3 of those slots for the FTW3 Ultra and 1 for the CPU? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I just don't understand PSU's that well, but I know it is something you don't want to mess with and potentially destroy components/fire hazard. I don't know if it is split with 2 PCIe and 2 CPU or if that even matters, but I do know that this PSU is a single rail if that helps.

looking through your manual, it shows 2 of each. I'm pretty sure the pin read outs on eps/atx cable are different than pcie cables but when looking at the psu, the connectors do look the same. I believe corsair made the psu standard across the modular plugin ports but adjusted the proper pin out on the cables to properly power each type of device. So you'd have to use only corsair cables or do the proper research to see who else does this as well. So with that said, you can't use a eps/atx cable for the gpu, but you could get another pcie 8 pin corsair cable.

I would just use the two pci 8 pin and then double up on one since they have the extra head. That's what i'm doing currently on my 850 seasonic.

    You need a new PSU.

Corsair says there are problems with that PSU and the RTX 3080 and 3090's.

    That comes right from Corsair.

It clearly shows "&" which means that all 4 can be used as any. Mix and match those PSU side plugs, it doesn't matter.

What matters is the CABLE that you use. Those will be pinned differently on the far end, opposite of the PSU side.

    Don't even try it.

Was speaking with Corsair and they fully tested the SF's and they all have issues with the 3080's and 3090's.

    THAT'S ALL OF THEM.

He said they might work, but expect problems, shutdowns etc.

That's unfortunate if the SF series really does have a problem with the 30 series. I'm about to just buy a ATX PSU and have it outside the case... I'm more of a performance over looks kinda person anyway...

What is the issue supposed to be? I’ve been running a Ryzen 3900xt and a 3090 ftw3 since day one on an sfx750. I haven’t experienced a single issue with this combo so far.

Hey Everyone I have a 800W PSU that has 2 x 6 + 2 pin connectors and 2 x 6 pin connectors. It looks like the EVGA 3090 requires 3 x 8 pin connector or 3 x 6+2 pin connectors. I just need a simple answer because my card is coming in on Wednesday. Will my PSU work? if not can you please tell me which one you recommend?

    Thanks everyone!

    No, it won't work.

    Something like EVGA P2 or G2, or T2, G3 or G+.

    Corsair RMX or HX.

Question guys. I just got my EVGA 3090 and everywhere I am reading says that I am supposed to get Geforce NOW for free for certain period of time and I am also supposed to get free games. I do not see either of this inside the box my card came in. Was I supposed to get Geforce NOW and a game for free?

    Hey relentlessfax,

I can't post links yet, but here's where you can get Call of Duty.

From the main EVGA website page, click on News up at the top of the page, then click "EVGA News" under News & Articles.  That'll take you to the list of all the recent announcements.  Scroll down a little to the Thursday, October 29th article about Call of Duty.  That'll bring you to the instructions on how to get the game.

Don't know about claiming Geforce Now, maybe someone else can answer that.

How about the corsair AX 850 for a 3090? I wasn't able to find anything regarding corsair and 30xx compatibility issues, so wondering if you remember seeing anything about the AX series in addition to the SF series?

    I'm running a 7 year old AX 850 with a Gigabyte 3090 Aorus (2x8pin) with no problems.
