I was playing starwars battlefront 2 and i noticed the game was laggy from the get go. 30 minutes later my pc turns black, and it shuts off. Before this i had a 3090 FE on the pc, so I know it's the gpu.

Now......did the screen turn black for a few seconds and did the fans run at full speed, then the shut down?  Or did the whole machine shut off at once with a click, like like someone pulled the plug out of the wall?

Start an RMA. If you know it is the GPU, you will need to RMA, or provide more details. Did windows give a driver crash error, or is device manager showing any errors? Are there any red LED’s on the back of the GPU?

Is there anything you are looking for with your post, or are you just posting to post?

it shut down like a power outage, but didnt completely turn off. everything was still lit besides the GPU. I had to turn it off manually to restart it.

I think it may have power spiked, I was seeing a constant 420 Wattage useage while gaming too, it may be too much for my 750 P Psu. My build is: 5900x, 360mm aio, 32gb ram, 6 fans, x570 mobo, and 3090 FTW3 air cooled with two monitors.

Yes.  Your 750w PSU is entirely too small for that setup.

Condolences.  Sounds annoying but try a bigger PSU, seriously.  I got a 1000w for my 30xx but I wish I got a 1200 or 1500 in hindsight.

Hmmmmm.  If the PSU went into protect (triggered by the GPU), all power should be cut to the machine - fans not spinning, RGB of fans off (assuming you're talking about RGB fans being on).  What may sometimes stay on is a MB light for about 10 seconds.  If that's what you had, then it's the PSU and you need a big boy unit that's more forgiving of the abusive power draw of the FTW3 card.

If the RGB of the fans stayed on......?  Could be the GPU.

I have never heard of this issue.  What were your dimm temps?  What did you do yo solve the issue.

56-57 degrees then crashed (XMP profile).  Then I put the ram back to stock and the system was stable at jedec 2133 even when the ram hit 56 degrees.  I tested using a 120 mm fan blowing on my ram and it went down to 46 degrees so I ended up buying corsair ram cooler and now I can run my memory on XMP and everything is stable.
I never had a problem with my 3070 so I was convinced the PSU was inadequate (750W G3) or it was the GPU.  Look at the FTW exhaust vents, it literally dumps hot air onto the ram.  Anyway, run HWINFO run a PR stress test  and monitor the dimm temps.  I'm curious if this will help you...

A 750W PSU may be capable of going up to 1000W, but not sustained. In fact, I should hope that overpower protection would kick in before that. Besides, 750W should be enough especially since that’s the rated minimum spec.

How did the system crash?  Memory problems typically give you a BSOD (blue screen of death) with sometimes a WHEA error.  The GPU issue typically results in PSU protect power shut off, which technically isn't even a crash.

If your rams are getting that hot, its sounds like you need better case air flow.

Black screen followed by a reboot.
    LL011 with 9 case fans.
Memory temps were clearly my problem since my issues resolved after installing a ram cooler…

depends on the psu, but if i'm running a $2K gpu in my PC, i'll suck it up and spend 10% of that for a good psu

It certainly wouldn't hurt to reinstall the motherboard chipset drivers and graphics card driver just to eliminate that as a suspect.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

I haven't had the issue repeat yet, but if it happens again I will update. I changed the settings on SWBF2 and no crashes yet. DIMM Temps near low 50's. When it crashed it was black screen, and all lights on pc remained on besides the GPU lights.

In my experience psu switch completely off and turn on the aystem after when over protection kicks , but i don't think that's the case as i have powered hungry gpus with potato psus just for fun , you will hear the psu changes noise also of the power draw is high

You could certainly try another PSU, but it sounds like a GPU fault.

Same event happened again, all lights on cpu cooler and GPU went out, fan lights and RAM remained lit. Screens turned black, and I had to hold the power button down to restart.

Did u ever check ur dimm temps? I had the exact same problem….

If ur ram doesn’t have sensors run PR stress test and see if u get BSOD. Then set the ram to jedec 2133 and see if it still happens.
