1080P should be okay for 3070.

I play in 1440p with a 3060 ti... 3070 should be no problems in 1440p. 3070 isnt a 1080p gpu...more like 1440p.

FS2020 seems to really hit the CPU more then the GPU. I guess it really depends on if you want to game at 1080p, 1440p or 4K as to the video card.

As stated above its a CPU intensive game, 3070 rtx is fine coupled with Ryzen 5600x, do get good memory as well, cpu games fps depend on memory clocks as well !

A 3080 will give you a slightly better framerate (if you have a good CPU) but don't expect anything mindblowing.
MFS2020 is quite demanding and, with everything maxed out, 60FPS would already be great.
3070 is probably fine too, really depends on how much money you want to spend, resolution and how long you want your gpu to last.

lol yea casually act like you can choose...im sure you would take either one if it comes up...im trying so hard to replace my 2070 super and ill take either 3070 to 3080 if i could find one up to +200 msrp...but no more..

Flight Simulator is very demanding and I would suggest a 3080 but a 3070 will be fine.

I run FTW3 3080 @ 7680x1440 on 3 panels and get about 44 fps in Ultra settings and is fine for a flight sim, actually anything over 30fps is cool, so a 3070 should handle it just fine. If your an FPS whore 1080p will be better but its up to you, I ran this 3 panel setup with a 2080S and it would BOG to 15 FPS under ultra setting but would get an acceptable 31 FPS under mostly high setting.

It all depends of what video resolution you are looking for. MSFS2020 looks magnificent in 4K of course. To achieve decent framerates at 4K a 3080 (Ti) or 3090 would be best.

3200 mhz is pretty good speed though, it depends usually when you run the game and see your cpu and gpu usages, you will know from there what is limiting the fps of your games, for me I used to have single 16 gb stick for wow and mine ran at 2133mhz at start, I never clocked it, now I have 2x 8gb sticks with 3200mhz for my wow setup, fps have increased by 15 or so, that's a big leap for me in raid , since wow is a heavy cpu intensive game, there is a guy on youtube that gave me the idea to do it, he plays this super intensive cpu game wow and finds new ways to increase fps, his channel name is hardware numbers, do check him
