Happy to report I just got to step 5. Sent in my 2080 today in the mail via 2 day mail and will hopefully get my 2080ti next week. EVGA should get my videocard on Thursday the 21st, and if it takes 2-3 days to approve after return then I should see my 2080ti by next Wednesday since I paid for overnight delivery.

Well, it's something I wrestled with a lot. I tried to be a little conservative this build and when I saw the prices for the latest TI cards I was disgusted... it was like EVGA pulled a Apple and hiked the prices up an insane amount. I absolutely refused to buy a 2080ti because I wasn't going to spend $1000+ on a videocard (which last gen was Titan prices) so I didn't even for a moment consider a 2080ti when building. I bought a 1080ti last year and was super happy with it, but I sold everything last year. Anyway, to make a long story short the 2080 is an awesome card but I wasn't getting the performance in 4K that I wanted and after I saw the actual numbers on paper of the differences between the 2080ti and 2080 and saw a almost 30% difference in performance I honestly just couldn't let that go. I had never done the Step Up program, and I honestly didn't expect to "Step Up" so early because there are folks here who have been waiting a lot longer than me so I figured i'd start the process now before the 90 days expires figuring i'd be waiting for a couple months but then I got the emails that I could move forward and I was just like... "Oh crap. Now I have to upgrade." I wanted to upgrade my monitor first, but now I am upgrading the video card and will do the monitor next month maybe. 
 
So, in short I didn't want the 2080ti until I looked closer after hearing of the Step Up program and seeing the huge advantage I would get with it. I still believe the price hike is appalling compared to the 1080ti from a year or more ago when I bought it, but I have to pay to play. I just am really afraid this is the new normal. Good news is I won't be upgrading again for at least 4-5 years.

Hey EVGA, is there a reason why my step-up is not going through? I got in line 24 days before him. He only had to wait 10 days, I'm at 52 days now.

Stepping up my 2080 to a 2080 Ti just like you did.

Got to step 2 on April 9th as well. Just checked my tracking and my GPU made it to EVGA today, so hopefully will have my new 2080 Ti soon :)

Thanks again!!! Looking forward to the upgrade.  I've got a hybrid cooler and matching cpu cooler here ready to go.  My returned basic 2080 just didn't have the grunt for 4k 60hz in the long term.

Update!
 
Got the 2080 Ti XC this week and had a chance to check it out.  Has the TU102-300A binned chip and Samsung memory.  The cooler is fairly effective at moderate power levels, at 110% power and 100% fans at 65C, it seems to stabilize at around 67C in an air conditioned room without being crazy loud.  I picked an mild overclock of 105% power, +50 mhz clock and +500 mhz memory, seems to be very strong and stable gaming.  Linked below is my Timespy result of 14,561 graphics at that setting, seems to be very respectable, was hovering around 60C during the test.  Looking forward to installing the hybrid cooler and matching CPU cooler.  Thanks again guys!

Anybody step up from a black edition 2080 Ti to the XC Gaming?

I tried to and I am supposedly in the que but I have waited forever.

I joined the Step-Up waitlist on August 9th for the 2080ti.  Still on step 1.  Will update when I hear some news about the next step for anyone like me, who is constantly searching for news of how long the wait is for a 2080ti right now via step-up.

Still in queue after 4 weeks.
