Bought Black Edition thinking I could do step-up to ftw3, hybrid or kingpin, to my sad surprise I cannot...shame, but I couldn't wait any longer. Will be trying to get the hybrid cooler for it now :(

yeah, i bought knowing the cooler would be a limitation, with the intent of waterising it later on.... but seeing as its not standard PCB that may make it hard to get a water block?

yeah, i bought knowing the cooler would be a limitation, with the intent of waterising it later on.... but seeing as its not standard PCB that may make it hard to get a water block?

Looks like the card is actually using a reference pcb along with a reference layout of the components since the waterblock that bcav listed shows the card is compatible with it. My first response was based off of the following pictures... 2182:  vs 2081:  Clearly you can see some components don't match the 2182 model. Back side of nvidia rtx 2080:

I just ordered this one yesterday 2080 BLACK EDITION GAMING, 08G-P4-2081-KR. Kind of a bummer it won't fit the hybrid cooler, i'm not sure i would've gotten one anyway but still one less perk to it.

The kit isn't listed under compatible on the website under "compatibility" on either the 400-HY-1184-B1 or the 08G-P4-2081-KR. I hadn't checked the manual that you linked so thats great news! That being said i did notice it said it was compatible with all reference height 2080/2070's.

I just bought the this card with a hybrid kit earlier today and was in a panic because they weren't listed as compatible parts on the site. Glad to see its cleared up now, should be here Friday. :p

then all PCBs are the same?
Yes and No and for the most part yes they use the same Water Block.Some have Sensors some have a Fuse so they are not 100% the same but the HC lists supports all the EVGA Cards listed.As well as NVIDIA's FE Model. If you need to know if they are Exactly the Same PCB for some other purpose then you should ask EVGA Directly. Contact Us
